Re: When Will the Casinos Reopen?
I see a lot if new faces at Mohegan Sun. The parking lot is full of cars with Mass plates. What I don’t know is are they just there because their casinos are not open yet? Does have something to do with the fact that for now there is no smoking at Mohegan Sun? I don’t know but I will say this. It is such a pleasure to be in a clean smoke free facility. I can’t see myself ever going back if they reverse the smoking policy.

That's to keep out the street peopleJstark wrote: ↑Mon Jun 08, 2020 11:46 amMichigan announces guidelines for Detroit casinos to reopen. No dates given yet though. No smoking but the oddest thing is they'll only be limited to 15% capacity.

Glad you can enjoy it. Hopefully they will maintain the non-smoking policy.A couple of local casinos here have instituted a non-smoking policy, at least for now. I am tempted to go there at some point. Take care of yourself Olds and stay healthy.olds442jetaway wrote: ↑Mon Jun 08, 2020 8:25 pmI see a lot if new faces at Mohegan Sun. The death of a security guard from Covid-19 has caused the three Gila River Casinos (Wild Horse Pass, Lone Butte, Vee Quiva) in AZ to shut down again pending a review of the safety measures implemented at the time they reopened. https://www.azcentral.com/story/news/lo ... 214335001/

i previously posted that tampa casino had reopened, now an update. first, i am impressed that most everyone continues to wear their mask, while in the casino. those not wearing are normally young people. no additional machines have been opened, so one never plays within at least six feet of another. i only go late at night, so most machines i play on, there is no one else in the row. they continue to have many cleaning crews for the machines. all in all, i would say the casino has acted responsibly, so far. this has to be costing them money.
back to masks, i am very disappointed in what i see happening in some other florida businesses, especially grocery stores. whereas previously, nearly everyone was wearing a mask, now, many have stopped. have not personally seen this, but others are telling me that many bars are very crowded and few wearing masks, mainly young people. this may account for some of the uptick in florida cases.
this trend is disturbing of not wearing masks and not keeping distance between folks. i have been a advocate for getting back to normal, but with precautions. people still need to act responsibly.

My best fiend’s entire family is in the Miami area. I hope the people there get their act together. Records being set every day and in the wrong direction. I guess the Asymptomatic spread of the mutated version of the corona virus is giving new life to this first wave. Human trials of a new med/vaccine beginning at Yale which is almost in my back yard. Very promising. Fingers crossed so hard they hurt. Be safe down there.

the death rate is declining, new infections rising. nursing homes residents are being better protected, many older folks still heeding precautions and younger folks feel invincible (nothing new there, we all felt the same way, at that age) and are gathering in large groups. end result, more cases of infections in the younger age group.
