Re: A couple of good ones!
Thursday night was a disaster again. Tied me record of 3 long sessions without quad deuces. May go tomorrow if all is well. No room. They are getting stingy again. May run up with the Mrs for a so called free dinner and to see what the mystery free play is. Probably 15 bucks. Play that then head home. We will see. Budget low for now.

Secured a last minute comp room for Sunday eve courtesy of a host. Played strictly 97 percent DDS in hopes of dealt quad deuces which pays 200 bucks for just a quarter initial bet. I played pretty conservative and was able to hit 3 Wild Royals dealt. Packed in at midnight up 356 bucks. Goal this morning is to get to plus 500 total and that would cover last session disaster on Thursdsay. Guess we see. Of course would love to hit those dealt quad deuces which would pay a grand for an initial 1.25 bet. Sad that I am doing better in the long run on 97 percent machines. It is not supposed to work that way long term. By long term, I don’t mean this session. I mean lifetime. I find that nearly impossible to believe, but I know there are others out there with similar stories. I had 20 buck mystery free play last night and another paltry 15 today. Better than 0 I guess, but much lower than pre covid days. I also earned 30 spendable points that will fill the tank so that helps too.

While I don't keep records, I am confident we did better on machine's with lower base EVs. Doesn't make sense. One caveat, many of the machines were progressives with high meters in the past. Hitting a $1500 RF or $700 AWAK on single line quarter DDB does a lot to mitigate the lousy pay tables. So does not hitting a RF or a miniscule number of AWAK at Nevada casinos with much better pay tables.olds442jetaway wrote: ↑Mon Aug 31, 2020 5:39 amSecured a last minute comp room for Sunday eve courtesy of a host. The trip ended up ok. Got these 2 this morning on DDS Bonus Deuces Wild. Got the rest back from last session plus a little. The clone worked well when I hit the 5 Threes. Pics attached. Had a nice breakfast on them, gased up and hit the road. Lots of traffic. Many New Yorkers heading home from the weekend. Many have fled Dodge permanently
due to the crime in NYC. That was on the news today. Buying in Fairfield County Ct. They have had it and this time they won’t be going back. Some others have moved out to their second homes

Isn't it nice when a natural full house pays so much?!?!

Now I get it!! I was lost for a brief moment till I actually looked at the cards!!! Anyway, yes it is! And the Royal!!! 5,000 for a 1.25 initial bet. Not that I have hit one recently. Been about 3,000,000 hands now. But that one I posted a pic of I hit a few years ago for 18,000 was something. I think I had 18 quarters bet. Oh well, one can dream. Last night I was dealt 4 to a Natural Royal twice on this game, but didn’t connect.

Overnight with the Mrs coming up tonite. Hopefully, protocols still being followed ok. They still need work on enforcing the open nose crowd. I have written them twice abd have a survey to do still. If they can’t do better with that, I may have to go to the media. Sometimes, that’s the only thing that works with casinos. They hate begative publicity.

When the Golden Nugget Lake Charles opened we received equal status (to other local casinos) for the first year so Sweet C and I both were Elite status. But, the games were 97% return versus Coushatta at 99% down to 1¢. We played off and on but didn't earn the tier credits to maintain Elite. The Coushatta play just kept making more sense-99% vs 97%. Two years later a new GM came to Coushatta from Choctaw in OK. We've played Choctaw on our trips to Missouri to see family and loved the casino/hotel but the VP odds are lower and less game options especially deuces. A number of other changes had occurred previous to his arrival especially as the food vendor contract changed and the food quality greatly declined as did operations of the restaurants. With the new GM came a new philosophy from the Player's Club. Our play had continued at a high level and mine one year was 5X the amount needed for a year ending in October. The next six months I missed the top status due to a family death. I appealed to the Player's Club as advised by my host and was denied an extension. The $2 1/2 million coin in the previous year had meant absolutely nothing. So much for loyalty.
Long story short we began to visit GNLC more. The annual Coin In was the same but on a yearly not six months status. We analyzed the perks/comps and realized we had much better comps, more free play, and better facilities, and it was 30 minutes closer. Due to machine availability we had to move from 5¢ to 25¢ games. That $200 RF was now $1K. Of course it didn't hurt that I found one machine that payed 99.8% DW 25¢. I think I racked up almost two dozen RF on it. It was my secret and the machine and I had a "love affair" until the weekend I hit 4RF on it and it was reset to 97% the next week. In spite of the lower pay returns the hits still come on a fairly regular basis -we've both hit RF on the same day/night several times. The GNLC perks and comps are still much better and love affair with Coushatta is just a reflection in our rearview mirror. Or, I guess I should say, "30 minutes further down the road."

Whatever works. Old saying. The proof is in the pudding. Those sayings stay around for a reason. They make sense.
