2022 Review
Needed to prep for taxes so I had a chance to close out my spreadsheet on our VP play. For the year we were up around a couple of thousand. So a rare positive year. Based on the data the year was eventful.
2022:
Royal Flushes:
15 Royal Flushes of 25¢ denomination or higher; Countless smaller ones.
Dealt Royals:
Sweet C had 3 dealt Royals during the year-1/1/22; 3/4/22 and 11/20/22. This gives us 21 dealt Royals since 2007 when we started playing VP. I had three in a row prior to her run but in 3 separate years (19, 20, 21) Way to go Sweet C!!
Biggest Hit:
The biggest hit was my dealt 4 deuces/Ace on DBDW 100 hand 5¢ for $10K. Same machine as my previous $10k hit.
Luckiest Day: June 7
We always stay at Choctaw, Durant OK on our family trips to Missouri. On the way up on June 3, I had hit a Royal. Little did I know what was to occur on our return trip home. On this night June 7, the following events occurred:
We ate a decent meal and Sweet C and I made the rare decision to go see a movie at the casino and saw the new Top Gun! Man, was I stroked after the movie. We then moved to the new VP area outside the theater/bowling alley area. Then a most incredible sequence began.
First, my name was drawn for $1,250 in free play shortly after we started play.
11:07 Playing 20 hands of 25¢ DW I held a KQ10 of spades and caught a Royal Flush. Excited, I sent Sweet C our usual text/picture of the hit.
11:14 Switched machines to $1 DW and caught 4 deuces.
11:23 Having switched back to the same 100 multi-hand machine I caught JK of hearts on 8 hands and caught another Royal. Sweet C is now in total shock and heads to the RR 50 feet away.
11:28 She comes back I'm sitting at the machine smiling with Royal number 3! I had caught AJ10 of Diamonds on 17 hands and had hit again! The most magical 20 minutes of VP play I ever had. Posted the pictures in June last year.

Larry: wonderful that you and Sweet C had a good 2022 from a VP perspective. Hope that 2023 is equally positive. More importantly, wishing you two good health. Condolences on UH's loss in the sweet 16.

Great stuff! I am a bit confused, though, by your statement that, on a multiline machine, you caught JK of hearts on 8 hands, and caught another royal. What were you, in fact, dealt, and what did you draw to? Could you elaborate?

I probably could have been more precise. The statement refers to what I was dealt, so I was playing 8 hands and dealt JK which I held and caught one royal out of the 8 JK holds. The same with the other statements.onemoretry wrote: ↑Mon Mar 27, 2023 8:37 amGreat stuff! Not bad for a team that for the past 4 years has lost 4 starters in each of those years. Playing 3 true freshmen and one sophomore in the starting 8 man rotation was a challenge. They exceeded my expectations. We certainly need to recruit an older, veteran big center, and get so more experience like last years team and a couple of better shooters. The new three incoming (2023) freshmen are top notch but freshmen! Was a great year! Go Coogs!

It would have been such an unfair home advantage. Olds’ UConn Huskies are still hungry and on the prowl!

LL, I apologize for diverting your thread to the NCAA tournament. Having done so, I need to root for Miami. Actually, more for Coach Jim Larrañaga. This is his second trip to the final four. The first was with George Mason in 2006, ironically another under-sized team. Both my kids went to Mason, and I still have my final four T-Shirt my daughter sent me. I was going to say more but most is included in the following article. https://www.si.com/college/2023/03/27/m ... orge-mason
