Yesterday's adds were CAG and FLO. And of course BAK.

Today, more BAK. I should just put that in my signature.

Just added CHRD Chord Energy. "We lead with a diverse board of directors and act as responsible stewards of our team, communities, and the planet, safely delivering energy to improve lives."

Vomit. I just hope they don't actually believe any of that.

I'm one penny (edit: two pennies) from a fill of HUN. Let's all think negative, and we can make this happen.

I'm reloading my BMA after trimming into the rally. Just added below 42.

Throughout the stock price roller coaster, the election odds have held steadyish on the prediction markets.

So far my PFE was a good pick on 9/22. We’ll see if it lasts. In the interim, I’ll take the dividends.

Berkshire buys Oxy's chemical unit for $10b.

Chemicals are arguably the cheapest industry in the stock market. I accumulated DOW, HUN, LYB and BAK -- all of which rallied 20% off the August lows. But those gains have largely been reversed. BAK has plunged to new lows. SSL has pulled back, but remains well ahead of its summer levels.

Energy also looks reasonable if not cheap. Berkshire has large positions in both CVX and OXY. The latter crashed 25% during the April tariff panic, and has recovered to unchanged for the year.

Like .

I wasn't able to research it today, but I'll move in tomorrow if it opens lower.

In the US, DraftKings and FanDuel maintain a near-duopoly over both sports betting and online casinos. BetMGM and Caesars have tried and failed to challenge them, as have others such as ESPN and Fanatics. I'm sure DK and FD advertise heavily, but people just seem to like their product(s).

In theory, prediction markets could upset the app cart, but I find their offerings primitive at present, and costlier than they let on. Robinhood promotes a flat 2-cent fee per contract, but what does that mean? On an evenly matched game, each contract is 50 cents, so the flat fee takes away 4%. And the bid-ask spread takes at least 1%. The cumulative effect is equally as juicy as the traditional sportsbooks.

I’ve already got a position in OXY from owning Berkshire B. Wish I added more when it was in the 450s. I would have sold when it just hit 500. Can’t get my arms around on line gaming, but I know it’s big. In fact it is a huge part of Mohegan Sun’s business now. Kind of leaving the brick and mortar casino in the dust except for weekends. I researched HUN. Just me. I can’t see it for now, but it’s moving up and a great dividend.

Game plan this week. Sell and take profits into strength. Sit back and wait on most buys.

What do you have remaining that you haven't sold already? :geek:

I'm still contemplating my Fidelity cash accumulation from selling gold miners and other winners. Friday I initiated EDV, and will continue adding on further weakness. The 30-year yield is above 4.7% while the 2-year is below 3.6%. That brings us back to a normal, upward-sloping relationship after a lengthy period of inversion.

I'm ready to add to my ideas that are attempting to fail, including chemicals and Argentina. And I'm standing "buy" on DKNG. It went the wrong direction Friday, but I can wait.

Of the stuff we’ve talked about here, I’m still holding BGS, EMD,SVOL, XYLD,PFLT,BRKB.XPEV,PBRA,ET,CAG,EC,GIS,PFE,MORT. Mostly dividend plays except Berkshire and XPEV. Also one tiny loser penny stock HNATF that I could have sold and made 20 percent. UGH!! Just gas money in that one. Also a long term keeper unless it crashes. DX. I’m looking for a free site where I can get Golden Cross Data. Haven’t looked very hard yet though. I have a friend that does very well using it. I think he has a pay for service though. Fidelity has slipped to about 3.8 on cash. Have to be careful not to go too wild on a buying spree. Much uncertainty going forward. I also plan to keep BGS long term unless they cut the div. Then I will use for a tax loss like I have done before.
