2025 Win/Loss Statement

Post by TripleTriple »

Well, just downloaded and printed out my Win/Loss for 2025. Managed to eke out a three digit win total with eight W2-Gs in eight visits (all Harrah's AC). I've misplaced my personal log for the last visit, so I can't reconcile my records against CET's, but I knew my running total was close to that estimating and adding my last loss. I'll add up my cash advances and ATM withdrawals, since I pretty much lost it all...

My record since 2007 (minus 2008 for which I don't have data) is 9-9 (9 wins, 9 losses). I was a net winner for most of that time up until a took a massive hit in 2021- I think that was the year I had 13 losing trips in a row. Another terrible year in 2024 negated a great 2023, so I'm mired in the red.

I failed to reach Seven Stars for the first time in three or four years, but I just didn't go often enough when there were multiplier days. Also, the multipliers have not been offered as often or as high as previously. Didn't take advantage of some really good luck on a couple trips, had to leave early, etc. We'll see what happens in 2026.

How'd everyone else make out?

Big negative as usual, but all my own fault. Hit a big one, play max play dollars after that being stubborn and usually not hitting much. If I had stuck to my game plan of hit and run, I would have been ahead this year as well as the last several. The worst is hitting big early in a session and then giving it all back and then some. No complaints though. My comp values and free stuff just about equal the losses. Close to 100 nice rooms and suites a year etc etc etc. PS…..And the Mrs likes it when she doesn’t have to cook! 😂

I was -$1,494 (all Harrah's AC) and minus at least that much at Resorts AC. It was another miserable year. TT definitely beat the Cove at its own game. Massacre at the Marina for me.

Down 6 royals is clearly miserable.

2025 was absolutely rotten for my VP results. I mostly play $1 TTB and typically I hit a signer every 3 or 4 sessions and wind up close to where the math says I should. Well, in 2025 I only hit 3 signers, despite generous (couple thousand $) sessions bankrolls. In a typical year I hit 10-15 signers. And, to top if off, I hit them in 3 different states - so I'll have to pay my accountant extra to file tax returns in all 3 states. The big hands just never came. At times, my FP offers were huge; and I saved them up for taking a big shot, but nope, still busted. I know that positive variance will show up, but I don't have much discretionary cash to keep going to the casino.

I can only really justify it by thinking you only go around once…..And I’m probably part way to home plate from third base. If I add up the comps, it feels a bit better. Still— 36k is a big gulp to swallow, but I do stay about 100 nights a year on the house, etc etc…Also, the Mrs is happy when she doesn’t have to cook. I will say when you are there and playing, the world stress does seem to melt away until reality checks back in later.

I really like the fact that the MGM properties still allow you to see the coin in/coin out totals. Everywhere else I go just gives a total Win/Loss for the year.

On the flip side, the gambling at NY, NY was beyond anything I have ever experienced in 30 years of heavy VP playing. Coin in of $254,273. Coin out of $203,366. 80% payback on more than a quarter of a million dollars cycled through their machines. It blows my mind that I would have to get 10 $1 Royal Flushes to get near the expected payback level. How likely is it to have such a disastrous result with that amount of money played? It has never happened to me in my life but I am guessing that is still well within the variance that can occur. Is there a mathematical formula that would show how likely that low of a payout would be for that amount of money gambled?
