Yes, I recall the incident. It was a superb show. Tony’s sure kept the food coming. It is not fancy, but satisfying. Out of the way unless you are a Tropicana patron.

Yeah. I vastly preferred the Tony’s lunch. But I wanted to spread my wings and try new spots for the $20 deal. The place was evidently part of a St. Patrick’s Day pub crawl. I loved the decor. You may have missed another picture up there. The staff was just clueless, apologetic left and right to patrons. When they bring out courses simultaneously, I check out of tipping. It was the last straw. I may return to good old 1927 Tony’s again. The Bride is playing at nearby Tropicana IMAX. Its lead will win an Oscar tomorrow night.
So, you "checked out of tipping" because "they" brought out the soup and flatbread together? Really? Just when I thought we had scraped the bottom of the barrel, another layer is disclosed. What's next? You "check out of tipping" because the server was wearing brown shoes?

Did you think to REQUEST that not both be brought out at the same time?

I would hate being your letter carrier. Or, paperboy, barber, priest. Or, neighbor.

I do have to say I can’t ever remember skipping out on tipping. Even when I had a total air head. I do remember some 30-40 percent tips though.

I cannot say that. I recall an incident several years ago where I left a reasonable tip on the table, not realizing until afterward that they had generously tipped themselves on the bill itself. I made it a point to go back to that place one more time, not leave a tip on the table, and instruct them to delete the tip from the bill. It was a bit petty on my part, but it sure made me feel good.

I always tip. If something untoward happens, I may scale down the amount.

That's how it's done. You never leave nothing at all.

Another county heard from. Okay, point taken. I do vaguely remember this etiquette point. The Tony's staff weren't exactly gems, either. Three times older and crankier. They brought out courses too fast. I know it's not fine dining, but I find it hostile and aggressive. I may have to retreat to the comforts of a casino restaurant next time. Their people are usually a level above, excluding the likely beleaguered buffet staff.

Always tip the buffet staff. Never leave cash on the table, always hand it to your primary server.

If I ever fancy the buffet, I will. The only Saturday lunch AC buffet is at Hard Rock. Seafood only $60. That’s a lot of clams.
