March Multiplier at Harrah's AC

Post by TripleTriple »

They say hindsight is 20-20. I really messed up last year; I could have easily made Seven Star if I hadn't missed two of the multiplier events. Still, just having moderate luck on my two December trips would have gotten me there too. Problem is I had two horrendous holiday week outcomes (I'm 0-11 for December the last six years). Then I compounded my error by missing the first multiplier this year back in February. So I was hoping to get back on track and make up for some lost opportunities...

I tried to change my reservation from Thur & Fri to Wed & Thur, but after I canceled and went to rebook, Thursday was "sold out" and I settled for one night only. I survived the Sure-Kill and arrived around 1400 hours (44.7mpg on regular gas). Checked in to 4th floor Laguna, stashed my stuff and descended to the floor. I swiped for the 10X TC multiplier (TC balance 10) and bucked the 1-in-5 odds to double my free play to $170 (good omen?) The masses of people seemed greater than what the parking lot suggested and I could not immediately get an open seat. I feared the possibility of marathon players locking up the preferred Five Star units until deep into the night. Fortunately (or maybe not), I spied a vacancy and slid into an empty seat, where I hoped to squat until...deep into the night.

In an attempt to rack up max tier credits before the risk of ruin became reality, I had convinced myself to step down from dollars to fifty cents. Loaded $100 of the free play and was able to turn into $82.50 extractable. Lost that and another $1000 in an hour, missing out on trip Aces:

Loaded the remaining 70 FP yielding $57.50 and lost that as well. Took a break after having a three hour quadless session. Took a hike over to Borgata to find the single Double Pay Spin Poker listed online. Despite two circumnavigations of the entire floor I was unable to locate it and gave up. Did see a lot of the newer VP offerings such as Royal Hunt, Major Multipliers, etc. Low denomination machines were occupied when I returned to Harrah's and my resolve dissolved and I surrendered to the open dollar option available in the Diamond Cove. Neither high limit Five Star did me any favors and I dropped another grand- and still no quads!

An hour or so later I managed to get back on the machine I started on and fed another ten Bens into the hungry hippo. Finally hit my first quad and a good one at that:

I confirmed AC is only issuing W2-G over $2000 when I got paid. A gentleman walking by remarked "that machine always hits" and I nodded my head, but I thought "yeah, but in between hits it takes your money five times as fast as those other machines". Just about even and around 1000 TC under my belt, I had renewed energy. I racked up close to another 1000 TC but despite two more bonus quads (4s and dealt 7s) I lost another grand. I retreated back to my room to eat and watch some TV. One problem though:

I marched down to the lobby to report the outage. There I was informed the entire property had no live TV service. Wonderful. Harrah's glitches again. I was provided $50 room credit for the inconvenience which is less than previous "inconvenience" reparations. I decided to continue the assault on the daily bonuses. Another $900+ into the Five Star pushed me over the 2500 TC threshold for the 5k daily bonus. I decided to call it a day and do it again in the morning. Set my alarm for 0530 to ensure seat availability at gaming day start.

A shower and coffee later I was back at it, lost another grand and an extra $100 from converted Rewards credits (2:1). Two more measly quads. Decided to get some grub with my noTV comps and had sub par eggs Benedict at the Coastal Craft. Grabbed two beers from the gift shop to use up the balance (only later finding out that the gift shop doesn't qualify for room deduction). Had to do the Cove dance on the dollar machines and lost $500 (no quads). Scraped together my last $500 and went back to fifty cents on the upright Five Star I had hit on yesterday. Had some decent hits- four quads including Aces, but couldn't last and tapped out an hour or so later with only 1500 TC for the day. I noticed that two of the Wild! Wild! Wild! machines were changed out leaving one in the carousel area. I guess they aren't that popular based on what I saw in previous visits.

So I did manage to maximize the 10X multiplier of 4k base credits, but only got 6k in daily bonuses which should put me at 48k YTD. I had hoped to have 66k but lack of luck cost me that and much much more. Being that I missed the February multiplier, I'm not too optimistic of achieving Seven Star status since I doubt I will make it back before the next one in August(?). And only one more likely in December (my worst calendar month) does not bode well. However, as olds says "You never know", so we'll see...I hope the rest of you had better outcomes for the multiplier event.

Well, you succeeded in maximizing your TC value but unfortunately, your winnings were minimized. There's always next time. To that end, better luck next time.

Update-

My base and daily bonus tier credits have been applied to my TC balance and agree with my numbers. Multiplier still pending (presumably since the promo is ongoing until tomorrow night)...

You do know Harrah’s AC lets you self‑pay, right? Just sign it, enter your PIN, and you’re paid. The W‑2G gets emailed to you.

No, I was not aware of this. I'll ask next time, but why do you call it self-pay? And I am pretty anal about looking over the entries on the W-2G- I have gotten many with missing info, copies, etc.
