Re: Right Cards - Wrong Game
I think you may have hit on the answer. While playing DDB I generally follow the rules, but on deuces wild, I will stretch a bit more, maybe. I'd be interested in what your game of choice is, if you would care to share.
Me? It's a toss up between Single Line DDB (9/6 or 10/6 only), or Blackjack...the table game, not the machine version. If I can't find 9/6 at a minimum and no decent Blackjack is available, I'll listen to the band or go up to the room and read a Science Fiction novel that I've already read 40 times! I've even sat in a cafe and read rather than play a bad machine!I'm a very low roller Gin. Consequently when you hear me complain really loudly about a seriously BAD casino trip, I will have usually lost only $100 or $200

Most royals I've gotten lately have been while playing deuces wild. Natural royal - no 2222222's.Can't complain, pays the same on quarters, but I don't understand why on deuces and not DDB.
Just personal experience - royals occur more often at DDB by factor of 25 to 22

Pretty accurate personal experience, jm! Math says royals should occur more often in 9/6 DDB than Full Pay Deuces Wild by a factor of 24.417 to 22. But probability and statistics allows for some much more diverse individual experiences.
If you had 100 people play both games an equal amount assuming perfect play until they had 47 royals each, the record of the middle 96 of them would likely vary between 17 at DDB and 30 at Deuces Wild up to 31 at DDB and 16 at Deuces Wild. The other 4 people would end up with either 16 or fewer at DDB OR 32 or more at DDB.
So ginxxxx, it is not at all unusual for one individual to see more Royals at Deuces Wild, especially over a span of 5 to 10 royals, even though the math favors DDB slightly. It's just the natural variation of Lady Luck or the RNG, whichever you believe in.
