Re: Offer to Fa La La La La.... La la la la: Results (5th card flip)
Results were verified. Rob even had his picture taken by Webman, I think, only to shove everything that you guys say about him right back at ya! Kinda funny from where I sit!!! Maybe Webman and Rob are in cahoots and the next big thing they will promote is Rob's uncanny ability to hold 1 Ace and get 4 very regularly.
Hey, Joe. It's interesting to see that you feel the relative importance of the meeting details to be:
1) Rob's appearance.
2) His Aces hits.
3) The recorded and verified "flip" rate during play, much lower than he's been claiming. Pretty close to what would be expected, actually.
You emphasized the first two items in your post, but didn't have much to say about the third. We'll take that as "your little way" of acknowledging that it wasn't the best of news for your mentor.
In testing, you play to TEST first, and all other emotions and agendas are left behind
The above is from one of his recent e-letters. So I hope if he writes again on the meeting, he'll take his own advice and stick to the result of the test. If you write again on the subject, I hope you do too since you and he share so many views. We all gave him his due for actually showing up for the test, now it's his turn to deal with the issue at hand.
I was a bit surprised to see in his e-letter an attempt to dismiss the results because the sample size was too small. He knew going in that the test would not be a long one, so I don't see what his problem is with that. He certainly wouldn't have complained about the sample size if the result had been in his favor. When he first started his experiment, he obviously noticed something unusual about "flips" early on, - a small sample - otherwise he wouldn't have begun making notes of them in the first place. So I hope we don't hear anything more about doubters needing to actually play out thousands of "flip" opportunities to get meaningful information.
As has already been pointed out, the odds against his unverified 40% "flip" rate being correct based on the verified 6.1% "flip" rate of the test - even with a small sample! - are, well, astronomical. He can help you out with the math on that one, if you have any questions on it.
If he considers the meeting to be some sort of victory, I'd put forth that he can't afford too many more victories like that if he wants his views on "flipping" to be taken seriously.

The thing I find very amazing with this "test" is the restraint shown by both gentlemen. There is NO way I could ever sit at a VP machine and play that many hands one coin at a time without going beserk and mashing the MAX COIN button.

I'm sure that I would have "oopsied" on that myself a couple of times. It's an unnatural act!

Hey Denver,Nothing about the whole flip over theory and recent exercise is interesting to me. I haven't had the time in recent months to even follow all the goings on of Rob or the other good folks on this site. When I read the letter this morning in my email I came here to see what was going on. As has been the case since I first posted here early this year... posters here like yourself keep coming up with conspiracy theories about Rob and his motives. (and supposed aliases like me)My entire first post today was, as you said of yours earlier, facetious a/o sarcastic. The main point of my post was and should be obvious to everyone ... I was letting you guys know that I am still alive and I am doing well...clear headed and humorous. Question to everyone...Why would Rob subject himself to such possible scrutiny if he was making all of this up? I truly believe that he has been experiencing something odd. This happened all of a sudden at the machines after tougher times had set in economically and he wants to see if it continues. All he has done is made this known to everyone in the VP universe, including game developers, casino management, and the gaming commission. There is nothing to hide here. No Agenda!!! No Money To Be Made From It!!! I also think that Webman feels similar to what I do... We all should just want to know for sure. If the phenomenon has stopped (as suddenly as it started) then that is good news for players. If it never existed broadly as suggested...more good news. If it were all made up to sell books...well then... I would say aloud with you all... That's Bullsh**!!! So Denver, I emphasize nothing in particular. I'm out of the anal-yzing business and I implore you all to think rationally about things for yourself. I wish I knew all this was going on before our cruise. Maybe I could have played a little at Atlantis to see/test this flip over stuff for a little while too. NOT!!!

No conspiracy theories about Rob here - not a one. There's certainly been plenty said about the type of conspiracies Rob would need to believe in to support his "flipping" theory. That's completely different.
Why would Rob subject himself to such possible scrutiny if he was making all of this up?
Attention. Attention. Attention. Better attention with criticism, then no attention at all.
If the phenomenon has stopped (as suddenly as it started) then that is good news for players. If it never existed broadly as suggested...more good news.
I take that to mean that we can soon anticipate a statement from Rob that the "flipping" is gone and that all machines are back to normal. Sigh. Well, there's hundreds of hours of people's time from all over wasted for nothing. For that, he's off my Christmas list.
I'm out of the anal-yzing business and I implore you all to think rationally about things for yourself.
Rob gets mad when people do their own thinking. He'd prefer that we all just accept his.

Denver,I have no clue what Rob will do next. I expect you will know before I do. You and others here seem obsessed with his every move. Hmmm. If you all say he is full of crap...WHY EVEN BOTHER!!! He doesn't need to try to get your attention...HE ALREADY HAS IT!!! If you feel you have wasted your time...THEN YOU ARE TO BLAME!!! You all get and READ his newsletters. You discuss and refute every claim he makes mockingly. The most popular posts on this site all have to do with him. Why were you even concerned that his testing had any validity at all? Seems like alot of numerical crunching exercises to me.The way you argue here in snippets and mini-quotes is pointless. You take tiny parts of the post and comment condescendingly without regard to the overall message. It's like an "I Gotcha" game...The perception of infalability that imminates from most posters here is ridiculous. For example, most here believe that I am Rob. When I prove you wrong by opening up much of my private life, struggles with cancer and my "Real" name, you all just say I am another screen-name/alter-ego of Rob. And that he is using some elaborate scheme to post here on this site. RIDICULOUS!! In whatever way this latest fiasco finally turns out...I'll find out about it in a couple of months when I have such a boring day that I re-visit this site. Until then...if you want to be brave and say or send a message to me... Rolanddude@aol.com is my email, Or better yet call me at work. (352)350-2620 I am Joe Carter, President of Showtime Music Center, The Villages, Florida. Be careful though, I just might sell you a piano or guitar. That is "If I'm Real!!"PS: I can't resist one last jab to OEJ (O verly E nvious J acka**). OEJ, if you don't understand some of the highschool words I used in this post...This is for you... Basically I said that you must not have much to do besides stalk and prey upon Rob and his every move. I also said that you wouldn't know the truth if it kicked you in the n*ts. Bye Bye!!
