Dr. Jones, in his book, writes that the evils of smoking and drinking have been exaggerated, and there's nothing at all wrong with maintaining Diamond status at your local Mickey D's as well as spending as much time as possible on the couch watching Gilligan's Island reruns.
Easy there CD. Throw in Starbucks in that mix and you've got me pegged. It's not Gilligan, but Emeril live or the Godfather. I have a book by Dr. Jones that says it's OK to increase your denom after a string of losses. Bet more, win more got it?

I can't wait for the Las Vegas trip report. Do they sell pianos at the Fashion Show Mall? How about the Wal-Mart on Boulder Highway across from Sam's Town maybe? I could pick one up next time I'm out there, no hair growing tonic needed by me, my age old solution to that age old problem of baldness was to in"hair"it the hairline from my mom's side of the family.

Man, have I been out of the loop.  I just haven't been on the computer for almost 2 months.  I completely forgot about the fifth card flipover.  I predicted RS would say it wasn't a big enough sample space.

Let's see, RS made four aces twice in the session by holding 1 ace.  The chances are about 4054.  And he did it twice in one session.  That's phenomenal.  Boy, that RS sure makes 4 Aces a lot.  My guess is one of his special plays in Bonus Poker is not holding an offsuit high card with the Ace.  This improves the overall chances of making 4 Aces......but it decreases the overall  payback of the game.  The fact that he hit 4 Aces twice in the session is not impressive.  It would have been impressive if he had predicted he would.

In August of 2007 I hit two royals just a few hours apart.  I made both of them by holding 2 royal cards and catching the other three.  Chances of catching the three cards--16,215.  So should I start holding 2 card royals over pairs?  I'll make a lot more royals in the long run..........but I don't think I'm going to do that.

Am I overjoyed that RS got his butt kicked?  No.  The results were predictable.

In a post on FREEvpFREE RS stated that his houly rate at video poker was $3800 and he only played 24 or 25 hours a year-he has better things to do than hang around the evil casinos.  How many hours do you think he would have to put in to get a 40,000 hand sample space on the fifth card flipover?  It must have been pure torture for him.

If you were worth $3800 an hour in a casino would you give up that earn to sit on a nickel machine betting a nickel at a time for hundreds of hours to prove some video poker anomaly exists?

50 hours to get a 40K sample, at 800 hands an hour of single play.  If he'd actually conducted such an experiment (he hasn't) it would be a bit more time than that since he was taking notes.  He could have gotten it done a lot faster on multiline play if he was serious about the issue instead of keeping us in suspense all these months.

He'd also be the very last person to put in that kind of time playing 1 coin on penny and nickel machines.  Someone might recognize him, take a cell phone pic, and give us even more entertainment.

After the test with our WM, he's stated that the "flipping" may not be as widespread as he first thought, or casinos may be in the process of removing that particular software from machines.

It takes 50 hours to play 40,000 hands at 800 hands per hour but not every hand will be a fifth card flip.  I think Webman wrote that RS got 100 chances in about an hour and a half.  So I think it would take hundreds of hours to get 40,000 chances on the fifth card flip.

Oh, yeah, embarrass me with two posts instead of one.    Thanks for the correction, that's 40K flip opportunities and not total hands.  I knew that.
