Wow! What a great close to 2010 and start to 1111. We spent New Year's Eve and New Year's Day at IOC - Lake Charles. Started out with multi-hand 5¢ since the G funds were limited. SweetC catches 2 RF and then a AWAK on TDB. Later she moves to her favorite bank of machines- progressive AWAK/RF - DDB.

The AWAK and RF are both up. The lady next to her hits the progressive AWAK and within 5 minutes just before midnight SweetC is dealt AWAK to close out the year.

Around 2 a.m. I switch from MH to the same progressive bank and she floats me a small loan. Her investment pays off when I hold two Aces and catch the progressive AWAK on the same machine she hit on. (I am so excited, tired, and shocked I forget to take the picture.) Great start to the new year.

After an early dinner 1/1/11 SweetC states if the progressive RF hasn't hit she going to play it again. Sure enough around around 8:45 p.m. she is catches the RF.

A little after 9:00 I decide if you can't beat them (25¢ play - join them) so I to move to 25¢ 3/5 play. Twenty minutes into play I am almost knocked out of my seat by one of those "hands of a lifetime".

Just before midnight 1/1/11 SweetC closes out the day when the next hand pops up.

What an incredible night, certainly a New Year's we will never forget. BTW 1111 = 4 Aces right?

Congratulations!!  D & I were so excited for you when we got the text pic of your win.   I am glad someone in the family won back the couple hundred we invested at Isle on 12-31. Now you have funds to go with us to Vegas the end of this month, right??

We love playing the Lake Charles IOC! While it is an older casino, it provides all we need: the tower rooms are nice, the Inn rooms have just been renovated and are really nice, the staffs at both hotels are wonderful people and friendly.

The casinos offer the latest machines for slots and VP is really decent. The multi-hand low denomination games are higher pay than the other Lake Charles casino. There are a couple "special machines" that still have awesome pay tables scattered around and all of the VP is basically in one area of the big boat. The crowds aren''t near as bad on the weekends as compared to Lauberge du lac.

The IOC slot techs, drink servers, and floor help are always courteous, the cleaning crew always inquires how you are doing and wishes everyone good luck. It is a very nice laid back "kinda blue collar atmosphere" everyone having a good time. Literally, when some one hits or draws a potential big hand people stop playing around them to watch and everyone wishes them luck, celebrates the winners and commensurates when they don't hit.

So between the better pay tables for low denominations (and a few machines with high return for $1 denominations (including a great 3 play progressive) and the friendly atmosphere we generally have all we need to play.

I'd just like to see one of those "hands of a lifetime" right in front of me.
 
It's always great to hear about anyone winning.  It's natural to have a thought or two that's along the lines of wondering why not me. 
 
If I have one of those cold streaks I just read all the warm and fuzzy reports here and admire the pictures.  Some days it's enough to get me back into the great mood of being happy for a fellow VP player.   It also reinforces the fun of playing video poker, especially when wins are shared.

Lucky Larry and Sweet C, what a fabulous way to end the year and begin a new one!! Congratulations, and GREAT PICTURES!
