A kindly little old lady
Was sitting to my right this morning at Four Winds in New Buffalo MI. We were playing 3/5/10 DDB STP multi denom. At one point I looked over and she was dealt a full house, aces on the top and sixes making up the full house. She kept the sixes too and I asked her why she didn't dump the sixes and go for the fourth ace and she told me that someone told her to hold all five cards as it was a "bird in the hand." I just kinda choked and said: "ok." I forgot to add that she had several thousand credits.

Oh Ted, it has been my experience that people really do not want our expert advice in casinos. One kindly little old lady kept hitting aces on jacks or better instead of playing DDB. She did try DDB but soon reverted back to JOB, as she was not comfy with DDB. She did express appreciation for my input. Another kept playing a DW machine after I pointed out that the DW machine behind us had a better pay scale, meaing 125 for WRF instead of 100. On rare occasions I will ask for advice on a play from the person next to me. Immediately, I am slapping myself for doing that as I probably know how to play better than they do. (Primarily because I know approximately how much time I have practiced, how much time I have spent in casinos and how much I have lost!!In theory, logically, those should qualify me to know how to play better than the next person, lol)

Some birds are cute. Others bite your fingers and need to be let go.
Tell her that if this cute little bird comes along again, YOU will pay her the full house if you can play the hand out yourself.

Last weekend at Hollywood Joliet a woman playing single line deuces wild was dealt a straight flush that included 3 deuces. She was getting ready to hold the 45 coin straight flush when I told her I would have gone for the 4th deuce because she was at the very least guaranteed of getting a 4oak. She took my advice and up popped the 4th deuce.
Marie I too pick and choose my spots to offer advice to people and as for mule: have you ever seen some of the purses these old ladies swing around?

HA! That is so funny and great timing. I had this same situation happend to me couple of days ago a lady playing TDB!!! same hand Aces / 66. She looked at me after she held all 5 and before hitting deal and shrugged her shoulders and says I hate it when that happens. A long pause went by as she was waiting on me to stop her. Then she hit deal to get paid on the FH.
I was thinking. I wish I could have bought that hand from her. I'd given her $100 to let me play that out. *sigh*

Not only little old ladies but "new players". We watched a couple last night trying to play multi-hand Dbl Bonus DW. They kept being dealt 2-3 deuces and would hold any other face card to go for the RF I guess. The lady would giggle loudly at her new 4 kind (222 J) or sometimes 5 kind. Sweet C got so upset she had to leave the multi-hand nickels. I saw the lady argue with her husband on 6662 -she kept telling him she had 3 - 6's; he kept telling her no, she had four. It was hard but for once I just kept my mouth shut. Figured the sooner they cashed out the quieter it would get.
