Funny you should ask.  Right after Christmas my family and I are going to set sail on the NCL Jewel for a 7 night cruise to FL and the Bahama's.  I was able to get a 30% discount on a "garden villa" on the jewel using a company that sets up travel packages for Harrah's players.  Then I went to Harrah's and came home with enough to cover the cost of the cruise so it's all basically on Harrah's.  This past trip will pay for all my expenses, shopping and will fund me in the on-board casino for the week.  Free vacation on the Harrah's.

What a great night for you, congrats again. Just don't give it all back on shipboard ... I don't think their casino will be nearly as accomodating as Harrah's has been lately

RoveerI was in shock and awe when I looked at your photos.  Yes, I join everyone else in saying that your series of wins was impressive. But, let me ask a few more questions if I may.Did you make all of these wins on the same machine, or did you move around after each win, as some players do, when they hit four of a kind?If I have my facts straight, you were playing on a machine that I would call 8/5 pay back.  I believe that this is a 97% return machine.  Why would a player play at the dollar denomination, yet not play a machine that was closer to full pay, 10/6 pay back? From your results, it shows me that paying attention to pay schedules is not worth the time, if you are playing for a few thousand hands.  That pay back schedules are only meaningful in the long run.  And by long run I mean for players that play for many hours per week, week after week.I think that all of your wins were on DDB.  Is that by design?  Have you found DDB to offer the best compromise between big wins and bank roll volatility? Now, I want to leave my computer and head for the casino, as your wins are indeed inspiring.

I was in shock and awe when I looked at your photos.  Yes, I join everyone else in saying that your series of wins was impressive.

But, let me ask a few more questions if I may.

Did you make all of these wins on the same machine, or did you move around after each win, as some players do, when they hit four of a kind?

If I have my facts straight, you were playing on a machine that I would call 8/5 pay back.

And by long run I mean for players that play for many hours per week, week after week.

I think that all of your wins were on DDB.  Is that by design?  Have you found DDB to offer the best compromise between big wins and bank roll volatility?

Now, I want to leave my computer and head for the casino, as your wins are indeed inspiring.

I usually move around but let me describe this trip.  I started out on my favorite home row in the smoking section, played up and down the row for a while (no hand pays), then ended up in the diamond cove.  My normal machine in there wasn't accepting bills or tickets so I ended up playing and the other side of the row which I normally don't like.  Just as I was starting to think "will this will be my first trip with NO hand pays", I hit the 20k.  I moved around for the rest of the night and then went to bed happy.  When I came down the next morning I decided to play a little more and went back to my favorite row.  Couldn't get any joy out of any machine but settled in on 1 machine and ended up staying there from 10am until 5pm  literally...  No food, no bathroom, nothing.  Sat there all day long playing, 3 hand, 5 hand, 10 hand.  Same machine.  Hit after hit after hit...  Every once in a while I'd get a quad ace w/kicker for a quick No W2G filler.  I even had my magical "machine spitting tickets when it reaches 3k".  On the bigger jackpots I started seeing more and more guys in suites and more security.  At one point one of them said to me "you seem to be on quite a run here today".  Then I had an attendant basically stand there and watch me play.  I think I must have had a few cameras trained on me too.  You'd think I was affecting the bottom line by the amount of attention I was receiveing.

When it comes to pay tables I'm aware of their affect on the payback, but I like my game, it only comes in this flavor, in this casino, in this state and that's how its going to be.  I am very particular about where/how/when I play and know that AC is going to stack the %'s in their favor.  I've had good enough luck even with the pay table so I'm not looking to change that.  Certinly not the game I play either.

DDB is my game.  It's what I train on, it's one I like, and it's one that I play well enough.  96-98% on the trainer.  I wouldn't say it's a compromise, it's the game I landed on and know best but it is volitile.  I'd say the only thing more volitile is UX that I do play as well.  I've questioned it before whether there is a better game, and no-one has satisfied me with their response so I am for now sticking with it.  And as for STP, some have called it a carnival game, debated the value and benefit of the multiplier etc.  All I can say is that in the past 2 weeks I've put 50k of Harrah's dough in my bank and that's fine by me.

My advice is, my methods, my bankrolls, my hours are not for everybody.  I literally become a different person from the time I get ready for the trip until I leave.  I'm not going to say it's a job, but it's certinly not a leisurely night at a casino.  I usually don't eat and when I do go back to the room I really don't sleep more than an hour or so.  Not by design, but that is my mental state.  I'd call it hard work, but hard work that at times pays off nicely.  I do enjoy it though.  It's nice to see all that I put into it come back in some way.  Espectially when I can use it to benefit my family.  Again, my advice, don't follow in my foot steps becase they very well may be that of a mad man.
