New to the game - Vegas trip
This is my first time to check out this forum and I must say that I love it. There is so much info here.
I'll make a long story short. Went to Vegas on a work trip (golden nugget). Played all sorts of games with my boss and broke about even. After the tradeshow, my wife and parents joined me at planet Hollywood. After losing my ass at slots,I decided to slip a $20 in a 8/5 JOB VP machine. I didn't win anything but that 20 lasted quite a while. Did a little strategy research on my phone that night and practiced a lot with winpoker. Started seeing better results slowly but surely. Then as I was about to go to bed on our final night, I was dealt KQJT suited. I almost crapped myself as I started imagining a RF hit for $1k. Well, that didn't happen BUT I did manage to get the matching 9, for a straight flush. I was thrilled to death. It was a great way to end the trip. I think this is my new favorite game. Can't wait to get some jackpots like I've seen posted here!
Anyone have an iPad app they would recommend? I have winpoker on my iPhone and love it. Is it supposed to be the best?
Thank,
Matt

Search the app store for "Super Times Pay" and you'll find the iPad apps. These are 3, 5 and 10 hand games but you can play them as single line. Can't remember but I think you get JOB for free and only have to pay to unlock the other games. Enjoy. Oh, it's a "trainer" so you'll learn a lot using it. You may have been looking at some of my pictures that I attribute heavily to training using this app. Roveer

Roveer,
Yes, I was referring to some of your pictures. Pretty amazing I must say.
I downloaded Super Times Pay. Its pretty good, but I think I prefer winpoker. Either way, but should help with learning proper strategy.

Matt,
Welcome to the forum. I started out learning JOB and still go back to it like an "old friend" because it is the least volatile VP game. I too, use Winpoker on my iPhone and really enjoy it. I am including a couple of links you may want to check out since you're starting out.
FreeSlots.com also teaches you how to learn/play the most popular VP games and allows you to alter the pay tables to match casinos that you may play. One note: change 2X -->1X for 5 coin vs 10 coin.
http://www.freeslots.com/poker
VPFree.com: Since it sounds like you sometimes travel check out the link which has a data base of best VP games at casinos around the country and even some in Canada.
http://www.vpfree2.com/
But the best web site is videopoker.com. Hope you hit lots of Royals.
