Am I missing something? Have never seen the jackpot sign come up for anything under $1200.00? Is this particular to Harrah's?
Farc, for whatever reason AC does handpays from $1,000 and up, even if the amount does not generate a W2G. The casinos' reasons for doing that seem to be twofold: (a) as a marketing ploy to make other players think that more people are winning jackpots and (b) so that the slot attendants can make up for their lower tip incomes
ACH(formerly AC Hilton) doesn't. I am not aware of any of the other casinos position.
Sorry Faygo, but I beg to differ. I received a $1,000 handpay on a 25-cent quarter STP machine at ACH earlier this year.

Never play STP. I have had Royals and 5trees for a $1000 w/o needing a handpay .I have had Royals 5 hands apart and simply cashed out. I have also had $3000 sitting on the meter after hitting 3 5trees and just got a ticket and went on my merry way. Might be peculiar to the STP machine.

Harrah's has 3 funny things that seem particular to them. 1. Their bar top machines will accept 10 coin denominations while most others only accept 5. 2. They hand pay on anything over 1000 which can be a royal pain since it introduces an intermission waiting for the attendant. Can at times be a buzz kill, but then again, winning is winning. 3. Any "call attendant" automatically dispatches an attendant to you so you don't have to go hunting one down. This is huge as tracking down an attendant can really change your mood when it goes badly. Faygo, that may be true. I also saw another lady hit a sub-$1,200 handpay at Bally's Wild West a few weeks ago. It was an odd amount slightly over $1,000.

Actually, it depends on how a particular machine is set, for both slot and VP. In Mirage, for example, one bank of multi-line VP is a pouch-pay for $1k and over, even if it is under $1200. Another bank of machines just prints a ticket. Same thing for some slot machines, like Quick Hit with a progressive for any three random Quick Hit symbols. I have played on on some machines that are pouch pay by an attendant, while others just add to your credit total.

It might say on a machine that all wins over, lets just say, $1,000.00 are paid by an attendant. I have noticed that before on many machines.
