Re: Random Rewards MH
I personally recommend against playing this game. Yes I know videopoker.com is a sponsor of my radio show and they put up the money behind the software with my picture on it, but part of my relationship with them is that I call the games as I see them. And I'm saying nothing here that I didn't share with the highest-ranking people at videopoker.com before they released the game. The reason I recommend against this game is that you never know what pay schedule you're playing until AFTER you've made your bet. With other games, you can learn how much a 9/5 or 8/5 or 7/5 pay schedule pays. But this game changes every hand and what you're looking at on the screen isn't what you're going to get when you actually bet. Because players can't properly evaluate the pay schedule, casinos often put lower-than-average pay schedules on the floor. For example, Station would normally have 97% games throughout much of their floor. (Lower than that for nickels.) If they had this game, they'd set it at 95% because players can't tell the difference. And if players can't tell the difference, the casino believes that it's a waste to give players a good gamble. For the same reason it's intelligent for a casino to do this, it's an intelligent reason for players to avoid the game. Furthermore, the strategy changes SIGNIFICANTLY from hand to hand. A 95% game with correct play will become a 93% game with the typical player who uses the same strategy for every hand. There are a lot of tough decisions in games when you know the exact pay schedule and can practice until you get them right. Don't think there are any less of these tough decisions in this game. The difference is it is a NEW tough decision every time because there is a very large number of potental combinations of pay schedule amounts and each of those combinations has a different strategy for the 2.6 million potential hands. You cannot have practiced many of them. If you like this game, go for it. But the fact that it's so hard to find is actually saving you money. Bob
The game is hard to judge because it is negative ev% most of the time and positive ev% other times. Thanks for the advice. I find the game to be fun and refreshing, like Ultimate X. Needless to say I am not a pro like you. Honored from your professional response.
