A Change is in the Air

Post by chattycattty »

There are a lot of positive things going on right now even though it is no doubt going to continue to get harder than ever to beat the casino at video poker. Olds finally broke his royalless streak. DaBurglar is no longer posting about how the machines are rigged in Atlantic City. In fact it seems that a lot of people are beginning to win there.

Like most people I am a recreational player but I do go to the casino expecting to win every single trip unless proven otherwise by the video poker gods. I agree with Bob Dancer that you need to practice and go to the casino with a gameplan. I also agree with Billyjoe that it is important to go to the casino to have fun and enjoy yourself while you are there.

Even though I am a low variance and as high as I can find EV grinder, I am open to learning how to play new games and hearing about how others have found success with the higher variance games. I do play some DDB and DW but overall have not had the success I have had playing JOB or BP. One of the things I love about VP is that there is almost an endless variety of games and depending on your temperament and tolerance and patience its possible to be successful as a grinder or a homerun hitter that swings for the fences.

Good luck and lots of 4oak's and royals to everyone.

I am heading to Biloxi tomorrow (Monday), so I hope that I have some good pix to share when I return.

No matter what, though, I KNOW that I will have fun.

I have been playing/practicing no limit holdem for the upcoming WSOP (end of may thru the fourth of july.....at the rio in Vegas)   I am actually doing well in both cash game play and tourney, playing at both foxwoods and Mohegan down the street in connecticut.   over the past week I am up about $1800 and change......I have had success in NL holdem, as well as video poker in vegas......my rants (as you people insist on calling them) about the other gambling mecca located in NewJersey were simply the result of atrociously abnormal results that defied any real logical explanation....it reminds of when I was young (aged 5-7 years olf in the early 1970s.....sesame street introduced a character we all know today as Mr Snuffalupagus(sp?), aka "SNUFFY"....for the first 3 years, only Big bird knew of snuffy's existence, as every other resident of sesame street would always show up AFTER snuffy left, and no one believed BIG BIRD that snuffy even existed for almost 3 years.....then, just as I turned 9 years old and started to grow too old for sesame street (hey, it was a lot more funny and comical back then), snuffy was finally revealed to all the people on sesame street.....what is my point here?   I forgot.......(for chattycathy and his etrenally bright positive outlook, this song is for you)crummy day, sunny skies, charcoal gray;hostile neighbors shout "they're down and out!"can u tell me how to dodge, how to dodgeREALITY STREET?Pushing drugs, filling some creep with slugs6 more ffeet is where the fishies sleepis there a way to avoid to avoidMAfia street?

I did not make up that song, just remember it from when I was 12 years old and had long traded sesame street in for  MAD MAGAZINE.

Speaking of MAD Magazine, Al Feldstein, Mad magazine's longtime editor died last week at 88. RIP.
