Re: VP.com vs Casinos
On this site the cards come up more random then my home casino. I play 40,000 hands a month at the casino and 3 times that many on this site a month. Sunday I had 4 to the royal 5 times off the deal. I might see that hand 5 times in a months play on this site at 3 times the hands.
Wildman you have a casino in your house? Kidding, kidding...
Ted, well its my second home! I even have a hand held poker I play at work! Don't tell my boss! I am a VP JUNKIE!!!

The VP odds on VideoPoker.com are much better than what we have in Florida Casinos. I only wish we had those odds. That aside, this is an interesting question. I train constantly with Video Poker for Winners software. This is the only software that I know of that allows me to match my local pay tables and play for money denominations and not just for points. I developed my single coin system this way. When I use the mixed level of difficulty setting which is suppose to simulate actual casino play, I find this level to be much tighter than actual casino play. So much so that I am surprised when I actually win something in the casino. I don't think a PC computer program can be written that simulates a RNG perfectly unless an actual RNG is used to generate the cards.

Well, as I am sure that everyone knows, nothing created by man, whether a PC program or RNG, can be totally random. The RNG does everything it can to be as unpredictable as possible. Re-seeding within the number string and continuous shuffling helps disrupt any detectable pattern of number generation.

If anyone knows of a program that lets you bet more than 5 units, please let me know. Since I cannot find any, the only way I can practice my Martingale Clone system is at the casino or have a calculator nearby to use on this site which is too much torture. The closest I can come to that kind of program on this site is spin poker which lets me go up and down on the lines, but what I really need is the following....A program that lets you bet at least up to 25 units at a time with multi denominations. For instance, at Mohegan Sun I can bet back and forth at the quarter level up to 25 units or coins and if it goes all the way up to 25 before I back it down, I just change the denomination within the same game to dollars and begin at 7. Obviously, this can get really expensive, that is why I slow down the original Martingale Version and don't up my bet on a job game until after I have lost 4 hands straight. Sometimes I can really get bailed out with this method like the other day when I had progressed up to 19 quarters on a Double Down Stud Deuces Wild game and hit a Wild Royal for 950 bucks after doubling the 19 bet when I saw my first 4 cards. One win like that can offset many hours of losses at smaller bets. Anyway if there is a program out there that I could download or purchase, it would help me a lot. Thanks...Olds...

I find the VP.com to be tighter than the casinos in Oklahoma. I play a lot of video poker at the casinos and way too much at VP.com but I do enjoy it!

Olds, why don't you look into buying your own video poker machine? I've thought about it myself. I would make my wife the slot attendant and have a lot more fun than I have with the girls at the Hard Rock! On the other hand, It would probably cost me more...

Hi Phil. Why not have multiple slot attendants? Don't know how much vp you would get in though and you would have to tip the Mrs. plenty I am sure on any hand pays. I have a vp toy machine at home, but it only allows 5 credits. I also have a really old wooden machine from an old beer hall that takes big old English pennies. The max pay on it is 6 coins. You have to line up the beer barrels to win.

I guess you can buy a video poker machine if it's converted to tokens. Probably pretty expensive.

Phil, I have seen them as cheap as $1500. Keep in mind they have to be 20 years or older in FL for home use
