Re: VP.com vs Casinos
1) The website "freeslots.com" allows you to alter pay tables to match your favorite casino. It used to allow 10 coin but I'm not sure it still does. quit playing it when I found this site.
2) I have WinPoker and create the "User Added" pay tables to match what I play so I can analyze hands when in doubt.
3) I also alter the pay returns on my iPad and here (use Custom Play" to match what I play.
Playing hours of multi-hand hands each month on site and at the casino, I generally find that they play very similar when the tables are adjusted to match.

I find the VP.com to be tighter than the casinos in Oklahoma. I play a lot of video poker at the casinos and way too much at VP.com but I do enjoy it!
Welcome to the forum. Which OK casino do you play? Were headed to Downstream in a few weeks.

The VP odds on VideoPoker.com are much better than what we have in Florida Casinos. I only wish we had those odds. That aside, this is an interesting question. I train constantly with Video Poker for Winners software. This is the only software that I know of that allows me to match my local pay tables and play for money denominations and not just for points. I developed my single coin system this way. When I use the mixed level of difficulty setting which is suppose to simulate actual casino play, I find this level to be much tighter than actual casino play. So much so that I am surprised when I actually win something in the casino. I don't think a PC computer program can be written that simulates a RNG perfectly unless an actual RNG is used to generate the cards.
The "mixed" level of difficulty doesn't make preferential choices for you? I don't have VPW, so I dunno what settings they have. But I do know if you set it to something like "Advanced", your return will suck. Why? Most of the tough decisions are with hands that pay 50 to 60% of your original bet on average. Most good deals are easy to play.
Also, I believe you're running hotter than the sun in the casino...no offense. The RNG that VPW has is good enough for a casino to use too. But if the training mode isn't set to be "off" or "completely random" then your results will feel much different than in the casino. Preferential hand selection will really mess up "typical results".

I seem to have more luck at VP at the casino's, than I do here. I'm never even close to the leaderboards in all the contests.

You do realize tens of thousands of people play the contests right? Being close to the leaderboard is a near miracle...and unless I was winning a pretty big prize, I would kick myself for not being in a real casino when this kind of run of cards happened. The general topic of the thread is about the average "credits" you win/lose on VP.com vs. the casino. 99.9% to 99.99% of the time, you're not making the top 10.

Doesn't change the fact that I do better at the casinos than here. I hit way more 4 of a kinds at the casino playing way less often.

Well I wish I had your luck then. When I play for play money, I'm hoping for the most terrible runs of cards possible, hoping for the big hands being hit at the casino instead. I don't play much on here anymore. I was getting annoyed with all the royals I was hitting for nothing. Lol

The good news is you don't "waste" a RF by getting it on VP.com, your odds of getting one are exactly the same every time you hit the deal button...

I know. I just wish I could be on the positive side of variance when more money is on the line. Still waiting on a first ever nickel-plus level royal. And I've upped my quarter play a good amount in the last year. Ugh.
