2014 Reveiw & why I changed to the one coin system
I have been playing VP since 2009 here in Mid Michigan. I play single hand 98% of the time. I started out playing nickels and been moving my way up. This past year playing 50,000 hands a month. About 600 to 800 hands an hour depending on the machine buttons. Some are smooth and fast while others are sticky and slow. 2014 was my best year ever as far as the Royals go. Below are my 11 Royals from 2014. Some big, some small. At the bottom of the page is why I play the one coin system 95% of the time since late 2014.//////////////////////////48,000 nickels($2400) in the 3 free games at 3 times pay!//////////////////The
first Royal that you see was dealt to me New Years Day. It then held
all 5 cards and started racking up credits. I had no Idea that would
happen, it blow my mind! Now the break down: I was down $100 when
I hit it. I gave the wife a $100. After we eat I lost another $300 and
left the casino up $500. Not a bad day! The very next trip I lost that
$500. So much for a nice hit.Now its April and I hit two Royals
one for $2400 and one for $2000. The break down is not much to say over
May and June I give it all back playing $2.50 to $5 a hand. So much for
nice hits and I have to pay taxes on them out of pocket. In July I
had been following Florida Phil and the 1 coin system. I start taking a
much harder look at the system and start playing it on and off in
August and September. At the end of September I played
the system 100% for the first time. Hitting 4 deuces 5 times! One came
on the max bet for $1000 pay off. I was sold on the system that day and
play system 95% of the time.
Hit 4 deuces 5 timesNovember 14th the system hits for a $4000 Royal! Friday's 13 hour marathon with a big winThe break down: I left the casino with $3900, gave the wife $800, put $2000 in the bank and have not touched it. I have money to pay my taxes! January 2015 another $1000 hit!
The one coin system pays in 2015The
Break down is this. While I have had a few Royals on the one coin, I am
playing on the Casino's money with this system. It's not all about the
Royals, its really all about the losses. They are much smaller when they
happen. There are days the system don't pop any 4 deuce hits. Then I have had 2 trips where I hit them 5 times. Yesterday hit the deuces for $250 and $50 and ended up leaving with only 3 drinks they bought me as I could not hit much after them hits and went home after 8 hours even. New years eve and new years day wife and I spent 2 days and I never hit 4 deuces both days. Less then $100 loss both days. Phil has a system that works. If you play a lot of hands and like Deuces Wild this is the ticket. If you only go to the casino and play 3 hours 3 or 4 times a month stick to max bet. The system is really for the people that love to play and play a lot of hands.Hope this helps some of you looking for a system. Thank You Florida Phil for sharing it!Good luck to all in the New Year!

Nice report and great start for 2015. I will be playing both the Phil method and my cheap Martingale clone method for 2015, and will be sticking with Deuces Wild games. I am really tempted to try it on Bonus Deuces Wild and hope for hits like 5 aces or the better paying 5 of a kinds. Have you or Phil tried it on Bonus Deuces? I hate giving up that extra coin on the straight, but there are more higher paying hands available too. I'm also curious if you guys have tried it out on a Multi Strike game by playing just the bottom line, then on a hit of 4 or more there, going for max bet on all 4 lines. That would cost 4 times as much as max bet on 1 line though so I don't know. The reason I ask is there is one nickel machine at Mohegan that I could try it out on. My one coin bet would be a nickel or a quarter if I wanted the correct payont for the Royal, The casino only offers on this machine Double Bonus Deuces Wild, but hitting 4 times your win on the 3rd line or 8 times your win on the top line is super as long as it does hit once in awhile.

Good report. My results have been the same; smaller losses and big wins that you can keep. I've tried the cheap strategy with other games and it seems to work best with single line deuces wild. This strategy takes confidence and determination. Confidence is the easy part as it comes naturally when you hit a few nice jackpots and don't give them back. The hard part is fighting with yourself to keep from going for the big score all the time. If you learn to be happy with small steady wins, you will find that you have money left over at the end. If you follow the cheap strategy as defined, jackpots will happen without your help...

I have not played Bonus DW on the system. I have used the system on JOB and B Deluxe.JOB the hits have been so so. Bonus Deluxe I was on 10 coin machines playing 2 coins then max to 10. On 7 machines I hit 4 of a kind. Six times on 2 coin bet and one time hit on max bet. All 7 hits came in the same trip. The problem with these games is it cost you more to max bet as the 3 of a kind pays 3 with 1 coin bet and that is when I max at a 3 of a kind. As Phil says the system is best used on DW.I do play triple play one coin per hand at the $1 level. Hit 4 deuces many times. Its hard to max bet since you need 4 coins on all 3 hands and that don't happen often. So you end up playing a lot of one coin hands. I hold my own well. Its just a nice change when you need a break from single hand in the middle of your day of play.

I have tried Phil's one coin on job and failed badly. It was one of those days with no quads and of course no Royals. If I remember, I caught a lone straight flush that day, but with one coin in. I would like to try it again on bonus deuces, but you will wait about 10 hands just to get more than your bet back instead of 6 on regular deuces wild. I think as you guys do that at least regular single line deuces keeps you playing longer.
My wife plays a version on the Phil method by default by playing nickel Multi Streak on a 3 line game. The downside is that it costs her a buck fifty a shot instead on a quarter. She has done very well though by hitting some big hands after the smaller wins when the multipliers kick in on subsequent hands. Hey vman, just curious...Do you like Multi Streak yourself? I can't do a thing with it, but some folks hit it good regularly. The trick is to bail when you are up good on that game since the cold streaks can be disattrous.

olds, as i have mentioned before, i feel your pain. while i have had some better luck hitting premium hands than you, the end result is i normally end up leaving the casino at the end of a session, losing more than i did years ago. i am just not convinced any system is likely to provide favorable results. so, this year i decided to do something different. i am going to slow my roll. less hands played per hour, seems like it ought to result in cutting my losses. i am not sure how many hands i play per hour, but on practice sites, i average about 500 hands/hour. if i can just cut that down, have some fun playing, instead going at it like a manic, mayby i can extend my play. my first trip to the casino for 2015 will be next week, when i go to florida to warm up. no idea if i can stick to my plan, but, i enjoy playing too much, not to do something. the ironic thing is, IF one believes the machines are different than years ago,and IF one believes this was done to help casinos after the slowdown from the financial crisis, the end result may be that many are adjusting their play, so they can keep going, yet stay within their budget.

I have cut back to about 400 hands per hour this year and it is definitely more fun. Less mistakes too. On double down stud though, I still play too fast. I was doing 1200 hands per hour, but have cut that back to 800. I wil try and slow it down some more too. Some of the machines don't give you the option to deal the cards slowly and that doesn't help either. I tried one crazy way to slow down my play last year and ended up with a headache. Every time I had a losing hand, I waited at least 2 seconds before dealing the next hand. Every time I lost I would add a second before the next deal. When it got up to 30 seconds between hands, I couldn't take it anymore, cashed out, took a long walk, and had a beer on the way back to the machine area. Didn't help....Still had the headache. , but the beer did hit the spot.

The last sentence you wrote is why I really like the game. People bail on the game when multipliers are still coming to them just like they do on ultimate x. I also like the general concept of the game too, but paytables are too rough on the game for me to play "straight up" for a 3-line nickel game or higher (paytables about 97% at my local).
As for the OP, with the volume you're putting in on the mostly not so hot paytables, one coin will keep the huge losses down at least. Think about this, 50000 hands a month on a 97% quarter machine will equate to an expected $22,500 yearly loss! And if you run bad of course, it could be double that or worse!

olds, maybe you should think of playing VP, like drinking your beer. you can guzzle the beer, get hammered and get in trouble. but, if you take your time drinking, enjoy it and have a good time. same with VP, slow down, enjoy it and we will not lose our #&%!

Negative 50k last year. The worst ever. Average paytable about 98%. Lots of 99 plus, but plenty of 97s too. Not hitting the Royals probably doubled the loss. Just roughly, 2% of 1.25m played is another 25k. Just noticed how I spelled disastrous....funny....Guess I typed that after no sleep or a non O'Douls night.
