Joechgo, I apologize for taking so long to get back with you.

The best place to get a rent car in South Lake Tahoe is at Avis which is located in the old Embassy Suites located next to Harrah's. You can also get one at Hertz which is conveniently located inside Harvey's but the last I checked they are about 50% higher.

The west side of Lake Tahoe has the most spectacular views and scenery. In particular the part where you drive between Fallen Leaf Lake and Lake Tahoe is breath taking. The best time to do the drive is in early summer when you do not have to worry about driving conditions and the waterfalls on the west side of the lake are in full flow.

We like to stop and get lunch at a place called Bridge Tender as you get into Tahoe City. It is a nice local place with lots of outdoor seating along the Truckee River. I would allow most of the day to do the trip around the lake because there is a lot to see. There are places not far out of the way to visit such as Truckee, Mt. Rose, Virginia City, and the old set where Bonanza used to be filmed.

I tried without success to post some pictures of the limo and pictures of the lake from a variety of different vantage points. If you would give me your e-mail I will send these to you. Or if you prefer you can go to www.jweforum.com. My wife posted a comprehensive trip report in the Wins and Trips section entitled Lake Tahoe Anniversary trip.

If you decide to go to the website give them my screen name and it will expedite the signing in process. Over there I go by the screen name of seemoreroyals. Good luck to you on your next trip and by the way all of the good machines are still there,

I registered on that website using your name. It was a great trip report. I have a few questions.

- just curious, why do you prefer Harvey's to Harrahs? I have the opposite opinion.
- how did you spend the $500 credit? I read that you only did the 19th kitchen and one breakfast.
- are there any good lunch options in Harrahs/Harvey's?
- do you ever go into peek nightclub?

Thanks.

Being a typical guy I am easy to please and would sleep in a tent if my wife was happy. She likes Harvey's better mainly because the rooms are quieter, the rooms tend to be cooler, and seem more recently refurbished.

As far as the $500 food credit goes the only meals we ate there was the dinner at 19th kitchen and the breakfast at Cabo Wabo Cantina. We did go back one more time to Cabo Wabo Cantina for lunch the day after our friends left. We used the rest of the folio which was about $200 to get gifts for friends and family members at the gift shop.

Neither one of us like American River Cafe and though we do enjoy Straw Hat Pizza it is not one of the restaurants that you can use your folio on. On a normal Tahoe trip we eat at least half of our meals away from Harrah's and Harvey's.

As far as nightclubs go we are in our mid 50's. While we don't do nightclubs anymore we do enjoy a good concert. We had front row seats at the Jefferson Starship concert. My wife forgot to put these pictures in her trip report but I think she is going to add them the next
couple of days. We do go to the comedy club on occasion at Harvey's and really enjoy that. We were so busy on this this we completely forgot about it this time.

I'm older as well, but sometimes I just like going into a club to people watch.

I'm going back in late March. I'm also considering a summer trip for a concert but as of now there aren't any concerts that appeal to me. Perhaps one of our trips with coincide in the future. Thanks for the info.

Good luck on your trip in March. Don't know whether you like Aerosmith or not but they have been added to the Summer concert series but have not been updated on the CET Harvey's website yet.

I got that email as well. That's probably my favorite one listed. I will have to see what else is scheduled and if I get any ticket offers. The Train concert would be good as well, but unfortunately its on a Tuesday which isn't doable for me.

If you're in that area, check out Carson City and Reno, typically can get much better pay tables (FPDW) than in Tahoe.

Good luck on your trip joechgo. Our next trip to Tahoe won't be until the end of June.
