I think I smell some pompous sour grapes here. Maybe he's ticked because he thinks only elites should play $5 games. News flash... you can win sometimes even when the odds say you can't.

No fooling. The only "casino" we are ahead long tern is on cruise ships with 6/5 DDB and 7/5 TDB. Of course very, very limited play and some lucky draws.

I certainly never suggested they shouldn't have fun. What I'm saying is playing this game for one coin on a $5 machine costs you three times as much as playing five coins in a $1 machine --- FOR THE SAME AMOUNT OF FUN. There is no hand on the $5 machine (bet one coin at a time) that pays more --- but the royal only pays $1,250 rather than $4,000. This is a HUGE lapse of judgement --- even for a recreational player. Some casinos don't have good pay schedules for lower stakes. But wildman showed pictures of NSU for low stakes. Surely they have 9/6 JoB for low stakes as well. John Scarne certainly wrote a book that sold well. Good for him! But he had a lot of misstatements in it, including the silly you just cited --- for not the first time.Bob

. I don't envy the guy who has a wife with such costly gambling habits.

The way you said this was incredibly rude. It came across as "I m glad I'm not with that woman".
I hope the original poster realizes that he has a great wife, because any woman who goes on video poker nights with their husband is a keeper!

She went up to $5 and BET ONE COIN as opposed to staying at $1 and betting five coins? And she plays bingo and slots? She may have gotten lucky this particular trip but such holes in her game will be very expensive over time. I don't envy the guy who has a wife with such costly gambling habits. If you were recently playing nickels and she is now playing bigger stakes out of control, her losses will seem astronomical to a nickel player.
As for Bingo we been there 6 times the past year and use comp dollars off our card to play. Never cash. She spent $79 in comps for a $750 bingo, nice start to the day.As far as her getting lucky your right there. She is a lucky player, and when she gets on a roll the casino is in trouble, now me I am lucky to get one good hit on a trip, she can some how some way get on a roll and when it happens a few times a year its fun to be a part of it!After 3 hits of $750, $1000, and $791, I said you are hot, you should take $200 and hit high stakes. We have only been in the high stakes room 2 times in 10 years. No good both times. We played a few slots nothing. Then she seen the poker machines. Now your right and my bad about playing $5 a hand vs the $1 level max bet. I did say that to her but she put her ticket in and I said don't hit the max button. It's her winnings, she can play whatever she feels. We only played 4 or 5 hands per machine. There was 5 machines. Now the DW hit you see was on max bet as we played the the 1 coin system max bet after I hit a four of a kind for 4 coins. Wife hit max bet, now we hold 2 ducks, we have a shot at 5k with 2 more, as low rollers we get very few shots at that kind of pot, and the photo shows 3 out of 4. Maybe next time.Look, she turned $100 into $500, lucky damn right, thats what gaming is all about.Did we do it like Bob would no, but it was goobs of fun!On the way home my wife said to me that was the most fun she has had at the casino in some time. Playing side by side playing with the casinos cash and hitting, only one word to call it PRICELESS! Even if it was our way Bob

I loved the topic of this discussion as the context applied to gambling rather than other things in reality. Not sure if the 4 way buffalo game version had a super bonus feature where you can get free spins on all 4 reels rather than the lone one that triggered it. Either way to win on a variety of games on a single casino visit is an amazing feat! Thanks for sharing a fun story wildman!
Yes the machine has the super bonus on it. She hit a 3k pot about 18 months ago in the super bonus!

I know the point you were trying to make Bob, but I never would have said it that way. Personally, I'm glad when my Mrs. and I go to the casino together. We usually play at opposite ends though, because I have a tendency to tell her what to do with holding the cards. EX...she likes to go for inside straights lots of times. Her record is lots better than mine too. We still hook up to eat, coffee breaks, and .......if we have a room for the night. Of course I meant catch a late movie.

Bob is probably preparing to play Quick Quads at the South Point which will begin its double points at midnight ...
Despite all the flack, Bob did point out valid points about the holes/habits being costly, we should learn that in the long run it will be a bigger mistake despite the luck. Also Michigan state laws will not allow players to write off taxable winnings with a reported loss. Another reason to consider avoiding high rolling. I got to admit, that casino has some good video poker options.

pretty obvious the best strategy was not employed here. so what, it is their money. the bigger point is there are better ways to offer constructive assistance, instead of acting like such an a......- i won't say it. if every poster who states something or posts a picture is going to be demeaned for not playing correctly, there will likely be less posters. then you will have an entire site of math folks. golly, that sounds like fun. some people just play for the fun of it, this is their entertainment, this is what they do as a couple, it is part of their socialiation. sounds pretty healthy to me.

I got to admit, that casino has some good video poker options.Yes we are lucky this casino has 99% plus pay tables at single line play. There is not many about 10% of the machines have it. Most all nickel JOB is 9/6. Now the multi line poker not very good at all.
