What is Video Poker

Post by jocker »

Video Poker to me is like an equation given five cards to select and draw to for the most advantageous outcome following a particular mathematically correct strategy that provides a long-term maximum outcome in winning hands increasing your chances for more such equations with the hope of LUCK randomly playing in, to achieve a premium hand in a financially tolerable time limit. Thus in the final outcome of the session leaving the casino happier than when entering. Maybe I got it all wrong, but that's how I figure it!
Thus in the final outcome of the session leaving the casino happier than when entering.
Pretty good definition.  There are a small number of people who win playing video poker, but they are not affecting the casino's bottom line in any meaningful way.  If they do, they will be banned unless there is a good reason to let them play there.   On the other hand, knowledgeable and skilled players often break even or win comps that have value to them.  Playing the best games, learning and implementing proven strategies, developing a positive attitude by keeping your mind and human tendencies under control and having some luck on your side will all help you to make this happen.

I love playing video poker because unlike slot machines, you have a hand in either winning or losing depending on how you play that hand. Your decisions have some control over the outcome of the game. Not so with slot machines which are preprogramed to win a certain number of times.
