according to an article in 08/31, LAS VEGAS JOURNAL, a new study reported that nationally, over the last 10 years, slot hold percentages had increased by 14.5%, while slot revenue had only increased1.1% poor player experience from increased holds are considered a major factor in the overall decline of revenue. people aren't stupid, make it more expensive to play and they will adjust.

Nevada's hold percentage is the lowest in the nation, and their slot revenue is still down 23% since 2006! They better rectify that trend soon.

Yes. I don't know of any state that doesn't include VP/video keno within their slot hold percentage reports.

Revenue is also down since 2006 because the amount of disposable income people have is less too. Also I believe (no hard data though) many people my age or younger don't gamble nearly as heavy as those 65+ and over. Casino gambling is no longer something special anymore.

 the reason i ask what is included in slot percentages, is that while VP would play a minor role, when the states are listed, the holds on slots would be even larger. as far as your comment about disposable income being down, i would agree, i have probably mentioned it a couple of dozen times. casino revenues have never been driven by your age group, it has always been the older crowd. what may be affecting the slot revenue drop was brought up in the article. as the holds keep increasing, players are getting less play for their money. if people perceive they are getting less value for money spent, they will spend their entertainment dollars elsewhere.
