I saw this photo on the forum where it originated from. The person was actually a woman and it was not her first hand playing. Of course she drew a ton of flak for playing single coin on the progressive.

That forum community is probably the most heavily anti-Bob Dancer I've ever seen (with Wizard of Vegas being second). Also the banned falalala has a strong presence there, so its best not to directly link to the original source.

I don't see anything wrong with playing single coin if you're trying to stretch a very small budget.  You may get better odds at the higher denomination which could make it a better game overall.  Some play is better than no play to some people living on a budget.The problem comes when you make a big investment in max coins and switch to short coin when you're running out of money.  That can never turn out good.  As soon as you do that, the skies open up and royals start raining down.

I do see a lot of players min bet when they are near broke.------------------------------------------------------------------------------Yeah, that's the default strategy. You try to eke out as many hands as possible when funds dwindle. It's really just another five minutes of circling the drain of course.

We all want to play as long as possible.   You can play min coins with the few bucks you have left or hit the ATM for more abuse. I don't go the ATM route, but it's sometimes a struggle none the less.  If I just left with my white tickets, I would almost never have a problem.  Staying too long is our biggest enemy.   I don't believe for a minute that pros don't ever regret camping out after a big win.  They can say they don't, but humans are humans no matter how you put your pants on.

When you're toast, you're toast. This weekend was Win Sat, Giveback Plus Sun. +$60 went to -$110 in two hours at Caesars. Machine I left hit two quads after I left it too. No remedy beyond leaving. 9/6 JOB w coin tinkering galore. No quads in over 800 hands.

This forum is way more anti-Bob than Wizard of Vegas currently. He's constantly questioned for specific details that no sensible advantage player would just give away with nothing in return. Many here don't believe you can profit from casinos if you are SOLELY playing advantageous situations. Bob has said numerous times, if he doesn't have the long term edge after accounting for everything, he simply doesn't play. He treats VP as a JOB, not entertainment! That's discipline that everyone else on this forum and 99.99% of casino gamblers simply do not have! Shadowman might have been the last person that was saying he was consistently playing +EV scenarios. But I think he mostly has stopped posting. I wouldn't doubt he got tired of saying the same things over and over again too.

WoV hasn't talked about Bob in a long time. But when I used the search function...yeah they were pretty rough on him over some major topics.

[quote=Vman96]This forum is way more anti-Bob than Wizard of Vegas currently.[/quote]I hope we're done sparring with Bob Dancer.  No one here was all that anti Bob in the first place, we just don't think it's a bad thing to question some of his claims.  Frankly, I'm glad we did as we were able to clear up some misconceptions.   Personally, I thought he never played anything but 100% plus games perfectly and that was now he makes his money.  I had no idea he ever played less than 100% games then counted raffle wins, show up money and all kinds of extras as profit toward the game.  Cool stuff in my opinion.  Anyway, I'm satisfied that the actual game of video poker can't be beat long term all by itself without comps, bonuses, progressives or other outside revenue sources.  If someone believes that it can, fine.  The man himself told us how it's done and I'm satisfied.

I miss mickey on Wizard of Vegas. He has great stories and good info...when he's sober.
