two royals in a row
My wife and I were at Las Vegas several years ago. She pulled up a 10, queen and ace of clubs and was only going to keep the ace but convinced her to keep all three. She hit the royal for the first time and won $4000. I was playing next to her and pulled up the same exact combo.... and drew a royal as well! Only one in 50 years of playing but a night we will never forget

Video Poker has been around for 50 years? Older than an Atari 2600 video game system.
Edited: Congrats to you and your spouse on both hitting Royal. Must have been an awesome feeling.

I've had multiple royals in a day, but have never seen two in a row. If that happened to me, they would probably have to tie me down because I would be dancing on the ceiling.

Electronic video poker hasn't, but the first ever VP machine was released in 1970 according to this article, so it's getting close to that. It really didn't start to take off until the late 70s though, when the predecessor of IGT came out with "Draw Poker".

The odds of this happening are probably a bajillion to one. I guess you were the one. Congratulations!
