Billyryan: I don't really disagree with you but one point I will make is Bob would never teach for free. While his seminars at South Point are free he is paid by the casino.

every profession has it's experts and many of those experts sell their knowledge for a price. absolutely nothing wrong with that. much of what they say and do is calculated to enhance their image and value to those who value that expertise.

it would be wise for all those who seek their advice to keep this in mind.

I know he was being paid, but I think he enjoys it. I might be mistaken, but that was my impression.
I cut my teeth in the club business as a bouncer. I truly enjoyed the work but I'd certainly not do it for free.

In my opinion, Dancer really never had any desire to post in the forum here. He only posts because Videopoker.com is a sponsor on his radio show and part of the deal was that Dancer get more involved in the forum.

It was good for the owners of this forum to have Dancer posting but he couldn't care less about it.

That is entirely correct, well stated opinion.

Mr. Dancer states the reason for participation on this site
The reason I post on this site is because I've been asked to do so by Mike Fields, vice president at videopoker.com. Since I've done work for them for more than 15 years and they are one of the sponsors for my radio show, I'm happy to honor his request.

I will sell a few copies of various things from people on this forum from time to time, but very few. Hanging out here hoping to generate more sales would be working for 5 cents an hour! No thanks. But as a favor to somebody who has helped me in my career? Definitely. Count me in.

Mr. Dancer is a good businessman who didn't get where he is by doing things just because he is a nice guy.  Don't kid yourself, posting stories of huge six figure wins sells a lot of books, software and consulting fees.  That doesn't mean someone on this forum is any less of a player just because they may choose to bet quarters.  The difference is no one is going to buy their book.  If Mr. Dancer would offer his expert advice on this forum without taking shots at everyone who disagrees with him, no one would care.  Unfortunately, I don't think that will ever happen.

Really? I suppose an overweight 58 year old part time DH like myself is no less a player than A-Rod? While I might fantasize about that very thing, the truth of the matter is I'm not A-Rod and never will be. Nor will I ever be Bob Dancer.
That may be true, but if you were I'll bet you would have more class than to publicly denigrate everyone who doesn't agree with you.  This question is not about personalities, it's about the right of forum members to state what they believe without being in fear of personal attacks.  Who isn't for that?

It seemed to me Mr Dancer didnt attack people who disagreed with him, rather he denigrated people who disagreed with math.
I've seen it a hundred times on blackjack sites. People try to reinvent the wheel. They come up with a system and based on limited use insist it is superior or equal to mathematically proven systems. When their unproven theories are exposed, people take it as a personal attack.
t seemed to me Mr Dancer didnt attack people who disagreed with him, rather he denigrated people who disagreed with math.
The point is no one should have the right to denigrate anyone on this forum for any reason.   Members should be able to have their posts discussed in an open and objective manner.  They should be freely able to post why they believe what they do and others should do likewise without personal insults.  The tactic of calling people you disagree with names or attacking their intelligence is "reality show" theater and should have no place in intelligent discussion.
