Re: Game of Thrones anyone?
HBO is dying for hits. They just cancelled Vinyl after a major up front investment. GOT cast got them over a barrel!!

Three central figures all had mothers die in childbirth. Since we now know Ned Stark isn't Jon Snows father, is it possible that they share a common father and can the hree siblings be all competing for their fathers old throne?

This may develop in the Show's final two seasons now that BRAN can go back in time and witness anything he wants to determine the truth.Danerys Targaryen -----> She is Definitely the Daughter of the MAD KING, Aerys Targaryen IIJon Snow ------> we now know he is NOT Ned Stark's Bastard Son, but is in fact Ned's Nephew because his mother was Lyanna Stark, Ned's Sister. His true father we now know is none other than Rhaegar Targaryen ( son of the Mad King Aereys II and Danerys' elder brother )! Thus Jon is possibly Daenerys and Tyrion's nephew......The DRAGON HAS THREE HEADS, so there ya are.......

Reallllllllllllly stingy with the $$ for production? You missed the story last week about the huge raises cast members got for next season then?Yeah Ted, so? The HUGE raises to cast members you reference actually involve only the 5 (five) MAJOR actors who play what is considered the 5 central characters in HBOs version of the Books series by G.R.R. Martin. Each of the 5 characters saw their salaries increased to about $500K per episode over the final two shortened seasons (i.e. season 7 is supposed to be 7 episodes and season 8 is six episodes.....) How much of an increase percentage wise the 500k represents I do not know, but for arguments sake lets say it is a VERY Generous 100% (doubling) increase.....that means HBO committed to about an extra 13-17 million dollars over two years......on a production the size & scope of this one, that is not that much at all. And this assumes all 5 actors will actually be around for all 13 final episodes (i.e. no one is killed off before all 13 are filmed AND each actor actually has a part in each of the 13 episodes.)The 5 actors who got these raises are part of a huge ensemble cast ..... BUT there is NO way HBO could ever NOT have any of these 5 actors be IN the remaining episodes! HBO could NOT afford them to drop out or quit or hold out for more money.....in other words they are that indispensable.......this is quite similar to the SOPRANOS and the final two seasons, when James Gandolfini demanded (and received) his 1 Million dollars plus per episode for seasons 6 & 7 of THE SOPRANOS......this was, at the time, a very awkward moment for HBO; HBO could NOT have refused Gandolfini's demand without tanking the whole show/project. Just because HBO has now decided to pre-emptively dispel any possible actor-related problems prior to filming the all-important final 2 seasons of GAME OF THRONES, does not mean that with respect to the rest of the GAME OF THRONES PROJECT HBO is not being (or has not BEEN) conservative or tight with the Budgets (despite the huge success and popularity of the show to date.)Anyone who has followed the show since the beginning KNOWs that production costs have been a very large and recurring issue, which is why the series has limited each season to only 10 (TEN) episodes (which fans have complained about, and even the Author of the MEGA BOOK series which the show is based upon has felt it is too limiting and constraining.......the BOOKS are, when finished, 7 volumes with length of the 7 titles ranging from 800 to 1400 pages each!) Furthermore, HBO has done a number of episodes "on the cheap"....take season 2, episode 9, "The Battle of Blackwater Bay".....in the books (Volume 3) this was a penultimate and world changing battle/event......but HBO's episode relied HEAVILY on very limited sets and CGI generated action sequences. Same goes for Season 4 episode 9's battle for the Night's watch & the wall. Use of the word "Stingy" by me is relative and given my unambiguous enthusiasm for the SHOW in general, there is a more subtle point I am making that you apparently do not understand, nor want to probably.....

DaBurglar I guess I just don't live my life sucked into television the same way you do. In the 70's did you follow Luke & Laura on General Hospital? How about the 80's? Did you wait patiently until you found out who shot JR? And the 90's you spent following every move that Ally McBeal made? Of course in the 2000's you sung along with every note sung on Glee?
I know of one word that you have complete mastery and understanding of, and that word is: turgid

I don't believe Rhaegar was old enough to be Snows father.

I don't believe Rhaegar was old enough to be Snows father.Yeah, he was......Rhaegar IS Jon snows father! Did you not see the finale in its eniterty? The last shot/sequence in the Tower of Joy with a dying Lyana Stark telling young Ned to "promise her..." about the newborn baby the woman hands Young Ned?!?!? The baby is Jon snow! That is why Bran was three eyed raven-ing that whole sequence, to LEARN the secret truth about Jon Snow's true lineage!lol I do not blame you....this crap is totally confusing, as much as it is addicting......Note (for anyone other than TED who wants to draw conclusions about people like myself who watch this show): I do not typically watch stuff like this.....I just happened to catch this show when it first aired back in 2011 and I stuck with it, mainly because when it first aired, it followed a HBO hit series, Boardwalk Empire (about Atlantic City in the 1920s & 30s) that I was very enthralled with and whcih was a much more cerebral and historic show!In other words, I am NOT a science fiction or fantasy 'wonk", I do not attend Comic CON, I am not a lord of the rings or star wars or Harry Pothead "fan"......

I don't believe it. I think it's misdirection.

I don't believe it. I think it's misdirection.Well I do not agree obviously, but I applaud & admire your gusto and passion for your conspiracy theory! The sh*tty thing is, we have to wait another 10 flippin' months before we advance our understanding of where the TV show storyline is heading.....again, HBO's stinginess with the production budget is cramping my style.
