Oddball Multi Strike game strikes again
This oddball machine I found at Foxwoods has given me several had pays. While playing very late overnight last evening, it hit on one of my pot shot tries for 3,200. The reason I call this machine oddball is that is has Double Down Stud as one of its options and the free rides are more frequent than other games. DDS happens to be one of my favorite games anyway even with its less than 98% paytables.
The Mrs. and I were both booked at Mohegan Sun for an overnight and we had dinner there and began our play there. The Mrs. played her usual nickel Ultimate x game and got very lucky hitting 4 Aces on Bonus poker with a 12 multiplier for 4800 nickels. Being the smart lady that she is, she quit early, did a little shopping, paid a short visit to me on my machine and retired for the evening.
I was playing at Mohegan on a triple play dollar DDS machine on the Deuces Wild game. After an hour or so, I was lucky enough to be dealt quad deuces which was good for 800 bucks. I had lost 200 in the machine so that was a nice start to the evening. I caught up with the Mrs. who had a very long and tiring week at school with report cards being due. She decided to stay in our room while I took a ride over to Foxwoods to try the machine listed in the title of this thread.
I hadn't intended to stay at Foxwoods that long, but the Multi Strike quarter machine was up down and not doing much damage. Very late into the evening, I was extremely lucky on one of the infrequent pot shots I took and was dealt quad deuces on the 2nd line for a 3200 hand pay. That was an eight dollar bet total for all 4 lines and on this game on the DDS option, your multipliers are doubled after you hit double on a good hand before seeing your last card. I made a quick pc to the Mrs. who I unfortunately woke up and after coffee and a too big chocolate chip cookie at Juniors, returned to Mohegan to spend what was left of the evening and morning with the Mrs. I made sure I had egg whites, fruit, and plain toast for breakfast after that Juniors cookie that I never should have had in the first place. Hehe. Bottom line...a good and rewarding time was had by all. Edited to add....according to the IGT website, this game is called Multi Strike poker Ultra Deluxe

Congratulations. Two excellent decisions: to drive over and stick around.

The Multi-Strike Ultra Deluxe machines sometimes have Double Down Stud with double double bonus as an available game for quarters. Usually hard to find. Used to be at Caesars properties in Vegas, only the Rio has this specific game anymore. There are several of these at Red Rock Resort in Vegas. One of my favorite games to play, but very volatile. Makes it worth it when you get a big hit on a higher line. Once got a straight flush on the top line for $4000.

Well they are volatile that is for sure, but even small hits on the upper lines bring you back in a hurry. I wouldn't be surprised if they don't pull the lone quarter machine at Foxwoods. I have killed it several times and now I find the slot attendants and suits hanging around watching me from time to time. They know I pull long sessions until I get a hit of some kind. I have only been playing at Foxwoods about ten sessions and already they upped me to gold, offering comp rooms, gifts and even cruise offers. I think they want all of their money back and more. If they looked closely though, they would find that I am just a little better than even but these casinos want it all and then some. 8 hour sessions for me in nothing. I do take breaks and stretches though. Have to. Sometimes I come back and the machine is busy, but not often. I usually play overnight due to obligations at home. As a matter of fact, after I wrote this post, I did have a long cold session on this machine. I stuck it out and instead of my usual mild Martingale clone method, I just played one per line. All of a sudden for just 5 minutes almost every hand hit something very similar to what vman just described on hit trip. I upped my bet a little, caught 4 deuces on the second line plus some other good stuff on the other lines and had another hand pay for over 1500 dollars. Good thing because even at bet 1 or 2 per line, I was into the machine for over 400 bucks. Just lucked out, but that machine plays so fast, I think I play between 1200 and 1600 hands per hour on it and very few mistakes because you are not drawing cards. I don't worry about the royal because on this game it is only a quarter of a percent penalty. By the way, they do have DDB in there too. Weather permitting, I will be up there again tomorrow eve. I have rooms at both Mohegan and Foxwoods and plan to take full advantage of the free play at both. Only twenty minutes apart so not bad if the roads aren't icy.

Congrats to you olds on another big win!
As you have described and I can only imagine how tough it is for you to do Double Down Stud and MultiStrike at the same time. Unfortunately there is no existing computer aiding training program to help master the game, only the original MultiStrike on Video Poker for Winners that this website sells.
The potential for big payouts are clearly there.
Hope the weather does not get too severe out there!

Brrrrr....almost that bad here too for the weekend and snow Fri into Sat as well. Alpax, believe it or not, I find it easier to manage DDS than a game I also love Bonus Deuces Wild. On DDS you hit a hand that pays more than your money back every 5 hands or so and on Bonus Deuces it is every 9 hands or so. Even regular deuces is every 6 hands. Though job is every 4 hands or so, the streaks without quads or full houses close together wipe me out in no time, so I have pretty much dumped that altogether especially with my Royalless records now approaching 500k hands again for the 3rd time in 4 years.
As to the Ultra Deluxe game, the free rides are quite frequent, if I remember every 5 hands or so. Also on DDS decisions are not too hard since you are not drawing cards. I haven't found a strategy for ultra deluxe yet, but I am doing fine so far playing it like regular DDS. I can't see where there would be much if any variation linked with Multi Strike because you do not have the card drawing factor. I am wondering if there is one exception though and I will try and research the strategy some more. Normally, on DDS you don't double to a regular straight without a wild card. You might have to though on the Multi strike version. Just not sure. Anyway, stay safe and healthy all and best of luck going forward into 2017.

Ultra Deluxe struck again. Played all Sunday evening and into early Monday morning. Back and forth with little to no damage done. Then about 7 AM bam. Caught quad deuces with a multiplier good for a 2400 hand pay. Stopped at Mohegan on the way home because I had double booked rooms. Checked out, played dollar spin poker bonus deuces wild for an hour and caught 5 Aces on a pot shot on all 3 lines for another 2200 hand pay. Left the casino with nearly 5k in my pocket. It is so bizarre how the Royals have eluded me again for 500k hands yet dealt quad deuces and 5 Aces continue to take up the slack. Dealt quad deuces on DDS are harder to hit than a Royal in draw poker too. Who can predict this world on vp. Certainly not me. I am not ahead for the year due to being clobbered the first 6 months, but much closer now and I think within 2 percent or so of total coin in. That is still not a small sum though considering over 2m run through the machines this year but at least within reason and matches nearly exactly the average of the return tables I have been playing. I will certainly be doing my share in making up the state of Ct. deficit with 33 hand pays so far this year. They rake 5 or 6 percent right off the top. Unfortunately, they will squander it as fast as they get it into their slippery not so little hands.
