Yes I think it is 3% You would have to check with a tax advisor about getting it back.

Does Mississippi still take the State Tax out of W2G hand pays?
Being out of state it happened to me once and there wasn't anyway to get it back?
Yep, and its gone forever. The 3% is held out on all handpays and its the state of Mississippi's regardless of what you lost during the year. I believe they started doing this in 2005. If I'm not mistaken they used to hold out 5% on handpays and you could file your losses but dropped it to 3% and said screw you.
