Re: Free play accepted here
One bit of marketing genius Mohegan Sun uses in their coffee club. Even if you play regularly at a minimal level, you are good 365 days for a year for a coffee/and. What does is keep the locals and there are many coming. People come and get their treats from any one of several businesses and most all will drop anywhere between 20 to 300 bucks a trip. All for something that costs the casino about 2 bucks per person. It is good at some places from 5 AM until 10:30AM when the casino is usually dead. A brilliant idea IMO.

That's why I never go to the drawings. I do the free play promos and the "hot seats" where I have the same chance as the whales. For me AP's a hobby that pays, not an occupation.

They have it at quarters, so you don't need too much BR. You probably stay under their radar at that level. As long as you don't vulture with a card....

Agree there on VP is now at a 4 to 1 disadvantage in drawings and almost impossible to over come it without taking a big risk on bankroll.

Just for the record, I reread what I wrote, and I just want to say that an advantage player is NOT a video poker whale. Someone who doesn't look for good pay tables, and doesn't learn perfect play is. Wildman is not the video poker whale(s) I was referring to. Glad you're back Wildman! Have a whale of a good time.

I don’t know if anyone has discovered this over the years, but I sure have. By far, the most jackpots and hand pays I hit are between the hours of 4AM and about 7:30AM. Something else strange.
On an ice cold machine, if I switch from JOB to Deuces Wild or the reverse within the same machine, often it will hit good hands immediately. Even changing from quarters to halves seems to make a difference. I have no explanation why. It could be that I am ignoring the times it doesn’t make a difference, but I don’t think so.

Yes OLDS I have seen the same thing changing games when its dead only to change back in a few hands and now its hitting. Most will say that's non sense but guys like you and I that play mega amounts of hands per day now what we see. I have a problem with Sunday play for years it's the worst day of the week for my losses. I have gotten to the point over the past year I no longer play that day.

I never saw any BIG VP players. At least not smart ones. The $5 machines set empty most of the time before any ban players. There might be a biggie that played high limit Ultimate X but not a smart game since the pay tables are bad. I been playing some $25 hands in high limit and most the time I sit for 9/6 JOB for a few hands the last player was playing 1 coin.davidearl wrote: ↑Tue Apr 06, 2021 1:57 amJust for the record, I reread what I wrote, and I just want to say that an advantage player is NOT a video poker whale. There are a few smart players left playing 5 bucks a hand on good pay scales but with the slot player at a 4 to 1 advantage on drawing entrees there's not much to play for now.

Same here. They seem to achieve their machine average payout in such a fashion that some days are weighted stronger than others. If I go back on a Sun, believe me it will be with a bare bones BR.

Instead of 86ing players, management should have restricted them to Sundays only.
