I've been wondering the same thing. Why play bonus poker? Now I understand. Next time I sit down at the poker bar I am playing Bonus Poker so I can drink a beer and not spend $20-$40 on double double poker.

For successful Bonus Poker player youtube "John's World of Video Poker". He admits BP is more for more patient players who don't mind the "grind" instead of players who seek immediate gratification.

The allure of a big "hit" on Double-Double or even Triple-Double is strong - but definitely not for the "grind" (especially Triple-Double)

Double bonus poker is the way to go the odds are higher and better and they pay you to play.

I don’t get it either. If I play triple double bonus on good hand can offset many bad hands.

Just make sure what bonus poker it is in the bar. Stopped at that new sportsbar place at Yaamava, looked like 6-5 to me.
But I might have had too much caffeine.
8-5 bp is excellent for free play conversion.

I would only play it with 8/5. About 99.13 I think. They yanked it years ago from Mohegan Sun. Replaced with the inferior 80 for 1 quad pay table

At the casinos I play in Vegas Bonus is often the best game on the floor and given the grind of JOB often tips me to Bonus despite the 0.37% reduced payback. The strategy is straightforward and getting a bonus quad is a nice boost while two pair paying double keeps you in the game longer.
