Re: Triple Double
Here’s the Problem with W-2Gs. A copy is sent to the IRS. You can only deduct your Gambling losses on your Federal Return if you itemize your deductions. Otherwise if don’t report your Gross gambling winnings, you will almost certainly get a tax bill as long as your income isn’t just a few thousand bucks. In addition, in States like Ct, you are taxed on Gross gambling winnings with no writeoff ability. Gross gambling winnings are included in your Adjusted Gross Income. Deducting your losses on your itemized deductions may take care of any Federal Tax, but it won’t help you at all in Ct. Finally, not that many people itemize anymore adding insult to injury. High income earners who are on Medicare can even see their Medicare part B premiums increased a lot based on Adjusted Gross Income being pumped up by Gross Gambling Winnings.

Correct. In addition, a higher AGI impacts medical deductions for itemizers.olds442jetaway wrote: ↑Sun Sep 08, 2024 4:59 pmHere’s the Problem with W-2Gs. A copy is sent to the IRS. I believe Medicare and medical Insurance premiums count as part of your medical expenses in addition to out-of-pocket cost. Apologize for veering off-topicolds442jetaway wrote: ↑Sun Sep 08, 2024 6:47 pm![]()
yes, and unfortunately now as age catches up with us, insurance premiums increase, and copays and the types and length of medical expenses increases for many of us, we may find ourselves itemizing as well. In many cases large Gross Gambling winnings can like you said Bill hurt those medical deductions as well. An AGI boosted by Gambling winnings, can make it that much harder to exceed the 7.5 percent threshold rule when deducting medical expenses as an itemized deduction. We already got penalized on our Medicare part B premiums a few years ago solely due to a Gambling winnings AGI boost. Looks like it will be very close this year depending what happens medical wise the rest of the year on losing out if we can’t exceed the 7.5 percent rule.

Yes they do and same here. The reason I veered off was the post about the W2-Gs being no big deal. That could be true for a very few and even then. Dealing with the bulk of the topic for a moment, as long as I’m at Mohegan Sun at least 2 days a week, I will wander around and see if there is any 9/7 Triple Double up here. My guess is I will find 10/6 or 9/6 at best.

If you find a 9/7 TDB, make sure you check the rest of the pay table as well. I discovered this one watching YouTube with downgraded quads 5-K (from 250 to 200) with a bumped up straight flush (250 to 500). This game paid back 98.6295%.

After playing Triple Double (and some Double Double) for a few months I find myself wishing I had switched to these games years ago. With JoB you are basically only leaving a winner on a royal, albeit a big winner. I am enjoying going to play VP knowing there is more than one path to victory. Obviously this comes at a steep price but it is worth it to me.

Yeah, even I grew weary of the dull monotonous JOB grind. Now Caesars AC completely wrecked that experience by downgrading their pay table all the way to 6/5 on their progressive carousel. 8/5 BP it is. It's a happy compromise for me.

I am going to be emailing places with 99.8% machines to include Triple Double. Its much more popular than some of the games they have on there. If any other TD enthusiast want to message them we may have a chance they add it.
