SAMS TOWN OUT ON BOULDER HIGHWAY DOES. MULTI - DENOM SO ONLY A LITTLE HAS TO BE INVESTED TO TRY IT OUT. MADE A $100 A COUPLE WEEKS AGO PLAYING 5-CENTS. THE MACHINES IN THE St.LOUIS MARKET ARE ALL 25-CENTS AND UP AND WILL EAT YOUR LUNCH.

  Two of the local casinos have the wheel poker-Red Rock Casino (Stations Casino) and Suncoast........I haven't seen it on the strip yet...

I expect all the stations casinos have it. I saw it at Fiesta H back in April. They had it at Sam's Town in the new non-smoking area. According to their slot search program they also have it at Main Street Station and the Orleans.

Wheel Poker has become my new favorite. The Southpoint has 4 machines. The Palms has 4 machines and the Orleans has 6. Didn't really see any on the strip. Once I got the courage to toss $100 in, there was no turning back. It's an expensive game costing 18 quarters minimim to qualify for the bonus spin . In 4 days I made over $5000  Profit from these machines. The Palms and the Orleans hit the best. I wish I could have stayed longer but my next trip is already paid for.

I actually saw the machines you are talking about when I was at the Orleans in December. They are in front of the Canal Street restaurant. Those are the only few machines in the whole casino that have triple double bonus poker at the quarter level.
 
I only played a few hands b/c of the additional 3 quarters you have to play just to hit the bonus spin. Can't remember.... what do you need to hit to get the bonus spin? was it any 4oak?
 
Does anyone know whether the extra 3 quarters make it a worth-while proposition? I wouldn't think so..... I usually assume if a casino is offering some extra perk (like they do with those side bets in blackjack), it's probably not in your favor....

The extra quarter usually pays for itself over time. It just means you need to hit something different to win the bonus (think Quick Quads, Super Times Pay). You might hit a bonus amount greater than you've put in, you might put in more than your next bonus. It's just an additional gamble but I think as far as return they are usually an okay bet in the long run.

well, according to the stats on this site, a 4oak occurs as follows:

1 / 423at .75/hand extra, you would have to hit (on average) $317.25 just to break even (that is 1269 quarters). The top 2 jackpots (according to an earlier post) are 1,000 and 2,000. So, hitting the second highest jackpot wouldn't even be enough to break even and futhermore, getting one of the top two is a rara avis in itself.
 
I mean yeah, you could hit a few good swings where you might get an extreme amount of 4oak's, but still...

I believe you would hit a 4K much more frequently than that playing 3 lines.
 
If someone can post the actual values on the wheel, it wouldn't be hard to calcuate the return on the wheel.

I seem to remember the wheel itself may not be random. If so, knowing the values will not help.
