I have two questions for you VP gurus:

1.  Are Vp machines programmed "looser" in certain casinos to hit or does it depend on the pay table? I forget now where I read it (adult CRS) but they can adjust payback percentages, in essence, loosening or tightening machine paybacks despite random independant events. You are always going to find that "one" machine that seems to payout more often.
Hmmm....if they could do that, then you might as well throw all strategy away Ed.  "They" can adjust the payback on "Slot" machines.  But the are not supposed to be able to change the "tightness or loosness" on Video Poker machines other than through the Pay Tables.  To do it any other way would require some sort of secondary programming and that (at least in Nevada) is not legal.  With that said, it sure does seem that at times, certain machines in certain casinos are rigged.  But I do not think that they are.

The ONLY way to adjust the payback of Class III VP machines is to change the paytable. And, it is not unusual to see paytables lowered. On rare occasions will you see them improved.

Perhaps it was the bingo machines they were referencing as the article wasn't specific. It only mentioned that slot techs had the ability to adjust payback percentages.

Could be Ed.  Those Bingo machines disguised to look like Video Poker games are really strange.  Thank goodness, most of them are gone completely from around my part of the country.

Virginia, I was going to respond to your post but I forgot the answer.
Here's the beauty of total randomness of the FNG oops RNG. I played my second session on my VP trainer today, 10 play DDB. Was dealt a 4RF with a 5th low card non-suited or sequenced. Three times in two sessions so potential of 30 RF, SF, Flush, Strait or Hi pair. In three tries, I drew two flush draws, out of 30 POSSIBILITIES! Thats random sucky bad luck! I hope this doesn't translate to my next casino visit!
