Thanks shadowman...also, in no way whatsoever am I saying I always win. There are plenty of sessions I get completely taken apart and can hit nothing. What I am saying is that whatever a game 's return schedule is, whether 96.23% for colorado deuces or 100.7% for 10-7 DDB, that over an infinite amount of deals and draws that payback percentage is accurate with perfect strategy.
This is why experts like Bob Dancer advocate so much looking for and playing games which have as near 100% return schedule as possible and always factor in what the players club is doing for your play.
So as I stated earlier, play smart and within your means.

I think a good VP player wins only 25-40% of the sessions they play when averaged out over time. Even the best lose more often than they win, but they win a little more than they lose per session.

Naturally, there are some good and bad streaks in these averages. I had one really good streak this summer where I won 9 straight sessions at one particular casino. However, for the year my wife and I won 256 sessions and lost 358.

Some of my sessions are really short when we're just picking up some free play. That is why the numbers may seem a little big. However, it is interesting that the numbers are very close to expectation.

The higher the variance the more likely it is to win an individual session. That is the reason for the big range in session win percentages I noted above. However, while variance increases the number of session wins it also increases the amount lost in losing sessions. So, overall nothing long term is gained by playing high variance games.

So, overall nothing long term is gained by playing high variance games.  But it sure does feel good when those higher paying bonus hands do hit! The upside is the bigger payouts for the lower hit percentage hands but I think we all know the downside or at least have experienced it more than once. If you say you didn't lose more than once, you're lying!
