Treasure Island - Sold

I have a friend who is flying back to MN tomorrow. Wind chills of -30F or worse are predicted.
 
Hit a neat Global Warming -40F in International Falls yesterday.

Unfortunately, now that the Pacific Decadal Oscillation (PDO) has gone negative we will probably see many more of these events in the coming years.

Sounds like good news for VP until that PDO reverses again. And who knows when that will be.

The PDO typically switches about every 30 years. We have been in a positive (warm) phase for around 30 years. I guess that means I'll be playing MUCH more VP in the years to come.
 
That is, if I can start my car and get to the casino through all the snow.

SM I'm sure you have a block heater since you have lived in the hinterlands for so long.

Never had a block heater. I've always had an attached garage which kept the temperature warm enough. Occasionally I had problems when I was parked somewhere else (like a bowling tournament). No block heaters available so it would not have made a difference. 
 
There is another Treasure Island casino in MN (which has not been sold) so I see an obvious link to the current discussion.
