Re: vp tournament

My wife and father played in a VP tournament last weekend at Horseshoe Southern IN as part of Harrah's VP millionaire maker.  They payed DDB in two 5 minute sessions.  You played as many hands as you wanted in 5 minutes.  You start with 0 points and get credit for wins and no deduction for losses so obviously the faster you play the better.  My father got 4A w/ K on first session and deuces with kicker the second session.  His ~ 3,500 points placed him 5th which won him $500 plus a free airfare and rooms for two people for three days in New Orleans Harrah to play in the tourney finals with around 500 people with a chance to win a million.  My father played with diamond members and competed against probably 750 players.  My wife somehow talked her way into a separate VIP tourney which was really for 7* players (she isn't) and she only had to compete with less than 100 players.  She scored 1,100 points and finished about 13th.  They paid 10 positions.  2,500 points finished first in the VIP tourney.  Most of the VIP players were REALLY slow players.  I offered to pay my way into the VIP tourney and couldn't get in.
