Ted does he get health insurance?
Good question. Ted, what about a 401(k), education subsidies, and career pathing? Vacation? We obviously don't need to ask about telecommuting or relocation assistance.

I'm guessing that a total compensation package can be put together: health, dental, 401(k), 2 week vacation after 1 year of continuos employment, car allowance. Unfortunately though I think piano lessons and Hawaiian Tropic bikini girls would only be included in a senior level compensation package.

You deal with the taxes. Then you split 50/50 any winnings. He is fronting the money, and using your skill to win. Your time has to be worth something. I used to back better bowlers than I was sometimes and thats what we did. Split right down the middle. No hassles and no argurments.

I'll admit I don't come to the forum part of the site too often, but when I do half the time I don't know what the hell you guys are talking about.
Gump, I think the best advice has already been given. Take the taxes yourself and then split the winnings but it is up to your friend. They can make the terms however they want.
Do you not have any money to just play yourself? Not that I would pass this chance up personally.

faygo was that the **** System you were using to calculate the split? CanNew2vp give us a spreadsheet on it? oej, I'm tuning up the Steinway for my solo.I'm not good enough to put the concept of fairness on a spreadsheet, but thanks for making me think a minute about it. As faygo so elegantly pointed out, the concept of fairness is nearly totally subjective, so getting the most you can is a good way to start, of course without making it seem like you are greedy.I starred out the name of the system above so Webman won't have to remove my post.
