Boops, since you play a lot of jokers you'd think you would be used to making that play.  In my case playing OEJs is similar to jokers and I'd never hold unsuited AQ or even AK (like you would in jokers). So, holding SF3 with one high card is an easy play for me when I do play JOB.

SM You are correct it is an easy play to make for AC Joker players. I have to make sure my brain is rewired when switching for AC Joker to JOB or DDB. It is too easy to make mistakes like  holding for a SF when there is more then one inside (unless low SF) or being tempted to hold two low cards to a SF.
There is also the reverse side of this when going from JOB/DDB to Joker and find yourself holding a lone A,K,Q or J. Those are one of those "what hell kind of play was that?" moments.

For some reason I hate that play-maybe cause Ive NEVER connected with the straight flush? C'mon Boops, NOBODY has that bad of luck. Practically everyone I know who plays VP has hit a SF at least once. I've seen them hold for the SF with it being king high too! OOPS![/QUOTE]

EDC-I meant specifically A45-In anything other than JW Id rather just hold the ace-even though I know its not the best move!

In that case Boopsie, I understand and is my error. Since you're an ACJW fan, I understand even more. Mine are mostly DDB and DW. I liken it to that of the RF3 with TKA suited. Two card gap in sequence.  Overall ER is high.
