Re: Super Times Pay

Post by lil bil »

I played Super Times Pay yesterday and the pay table for 10 play deuces wild was 9/5.  Today it is only 9/4, and I am being asked to come in as a player or industry professional.  What's up with that?  Why the change to the pay table?
Me again, I should say that the pay table is different when I come in and say I am a player.  It is different from the screen where I used to enter the Super Times Pay game, where I could click on brochures for that machine and other information.  So I am guessing that only industry professionals can get to the games with good pay tables now?  I am not sure I want to play with the 9/4 pay table. Maybe I will have to find another game with a more favorable pay table.

lil bil, we do make pay tables changes on occasion. We hope at some point to offer the ability to choose from a variety of pay tables but that is down the road.It sounds like you need to update your bookmarked page. The page you bookmarked is no longer available and the Play Free Games page will always be the most current. I suggest bookmarking the home page instead, however, so that you don't miss out on important announcements and contests.

Thanks, Webman, for your response.  I really would rather play the full pay version.  I am thinking, what difference does it make to you, it isn't real money?  I guess you could ask me the same question, either way it isn't real money.  But in a real casino I would be walking away.

I have played Supertimes play for a couple of years now. Long before I was a member here.  I find no differance between the casinos and here.  Except it saves me trips to the casino, saves me money. And I can watch TV while playing my favorite game. I thank you for that.  I seem to do better at DW but that Just me. I wish they would add the DW plus joker I have played that before I found Super times and did pretty good at hitting the 5 wilds

Yes, I like Super Times play, without the super times play feature which I feel adds nothing and costs too much. You don't get the bonus multiplier often enough to have it be worth what you have to put in, and it seems like you only get it when you have no good cards.

I used to like this game better when I could play the full pay version.  I still don't see what difference it makes, it isn't like they plan to send you your winnings.

I like STP, except when I go 70+ hands without a multiplier.  i've kept track of the multiplier over hundreds of hands and the average appearance was every 16 hands at an average multiplier very near 4 (as I've read it should be).  But the times it goes over 50 or even 70 are real killers.  What is the algorithm that leads to such large swings?

This isn't quite what you asked for...people like New2vp and shadowman can give you the math behind this.  New2vp has written about the math on things like this several times.  For this chart I simply played out hands until I got 1000 multipliers using a probability per deal of .06666667 for a multiplier (one every 15 deals).  That number along with the average multiplier value is in one of the STP help screens.  I then sorted the intervals and put them on this chart.  The maximum interval of 112 that I show is just over this particular test.  I just noticed a little oopsie I made when typing the chart label; the average should show as 15.39 instead of 15.37.

The horizontal red line is the average rate for multipliers in this test (just over 15 deals between multipliers).  About 2/3 of them occur in less than the average interval.  The intervals for the last 5% on the high end are killers.

If we took the information you've collected and added it to this chart as a new data series your multiplier intervals should be the same as what I show with the blue curve.

The selection method is the same as every other situation with VP. The multipliers are selected using the RNG.

You can map the output of an RNG into any numerical range. Assume 15 hands is what you want.  You want a value between 1-15 and it is easy to do with a RNG. Whenever the RNG returns a 15 you would go into multiplier display mode. The RNG is then used to select the multiplier value. Once again you can define a range of values to make 2x and 3x multipliers more likely by giving them additional combinations of numbers. For example, if 1 in 20 times is desired for the 10x multiplier and 5 in 20 for the 2x multiplier you could assign the value 1 for the 10x multiplier and 2 through 6 for the 2x multiplier.

I broke this up to make it simpler to understand (I hope) but one call to the RNG could be used as easily as the two I gave in this example.

CD and Shadowman,

Thanks for your very helpful posts.  They are very much appreciated.   CD, I need some time to think about your graph, and will then comment again.  Shadowman, your saying its just the roll of a 15 sided dice (or is it die)?

Yes, and that's one weird die.
