Re: Do you think four-of-a-kinds come in spurts?
Random does not mean there won't be spurts and droughts. It means you can't predict them. We know a coin is random. Would you expect to flip a coin and have it alternate between heads/tails/heads/tails forever? Streaks are part of randomness.
VP machines are random, and you would have to play around the clock for about a year, to go through a single set of the combinations one gets, drawing to a 52 card deck.
It is not possible for you as an individual to watch enough VP to draw any conclusions about it. I know from managing a team of 88 players for a year it is totally on the level.
Hope this helps.

Thanks Frank! I hear too many people saying its not random-glad to hear it from you

And I hope everyone realizes that the reason I can make posts like this is because I'm speaking not as an individual, but an ex-team manager with access to years of hyper-accurate records, spanning dozens of players, all playing identical and mathematically correct strategy. And low and behold 2+2 does indeed equal 4. Why that surprises so many has always confounded me.I may be the best VP professional to answer questions just like this. That doesn't extend to all things VP.I would like to take this time to refute any baseless an unfounded claims about me knowing everything. I have some vary narrow and specific information on VP and Progressive VP, that has been left in the fridge far too long and is likely growing mold. I approached it exactly like leftovers left too long. My choices were:1. Through it out.2. Try to Establish diplomatic relations.3. Write a book about it.I went with three and here we are. For up to the date recent info on VP Bob is your guy. I'm semi-retired. Hope this clears up any confusion, or confuses any lack thereof.~FK

You can do it yourself:Probability of a 4K - 4231/(P-1/P) to the power of N (N=number of trials)423/422 = 0.9976359340.997635934 to the power of 3600 = .0199%About 1 in 5018~Frank Kneeland, Author of The Secret World of Video Poker Progressives--A History and How-To of Video Poker Slot Teams in Las Vegas. www.progressivevp.combody, div, table, thead, tbody, tfoot, tr, th, td, p { font-family: "Arial"; font-size: x-small; }
