I tend to agree more with DaBurglar's last statement hinting that there might be something funny going on inside the machine. All the kind words in the world and all the indepth analysises surely wont make him feel any better at this point.

I tend to agree more with DaBurglar's last statement hinting that there
might be something funny going on inside the machine. All the kind words
in the world and all the indepth analysises surely wont make him feel
any better at this point.I concur that it is easier and requires less thought to agree with just about any conspiracy theory than to try to understand a probability calculation based on a fair random number generator. Certainly no one should be surprised by the point of your post or the lack of new information provided therein.DaBurglar has enough in his post for everyone to find something that
agrees with their own preconception of fair RNGs or rigged machines.
The math can be demonstrated although it requires some concentration that many will feel it is not worth the trouble; conspiracy theory can also be nearly "proved" with
enough evidence, but more generally is just stated as being true on its face.Let's see if I understand your point. Since DaBurglar won at the Tropicana, the machines there are not rigged (but who really knows?); but, at the Trump, since he lost, they most likely are. No one would expect DaBurglar to be happy with the subsequent loss after the progressive jackpot win, so no analysis is designed to help him feel better. And the greater the loss, the less happy anybody would feel. In spite of his loss (and I don't want to put words in DaBurglar's mouth), he may describe people who think as you have expressed yourself to be somewhat irrational in their approach. Oh, wait a minute, that's exactly what he did say.Now I know why the people who swear up and down that VP is rigged or fixed feel the way they do...if I had a few more experiences like this one, I might start to think and feel irrational as well. So, at this point, it seems that DaBurglar has not yet crossed over to what you are agreeing to. And if he does, I would hope that he would stop playing, since he should only expect to lose much more than expected in subsequent sessions.DaBurglar does not say that he was exclusively playing quarter 9/6 JoB, but I infer based on the size of the progressive jackpot that he won when playing 8/5, his play was at quarters. If he played 3000 hands with good strategy at quarter 9/6 JoB, I agree that a loss of $600 would be extreme; it should essentially never happen. When playing 50-cent coins with a $600 bankroll, the odds are 12 to 1 that you will lose the entire bankroll without finishing 3000 hands. If the play was at a $ machine, there is a 47% chance of not finishing. It would be more difficult to calculate if his play was at mixed denominations. But then again, depending on your point of view, calculations will have no effect on your beliefs.I expect you to continue to make these posts as a public service because based on your beliefs, no one should ever play video poker and both the casinos offering it and the people regulating the same should be investigated and put in jail for conspiracy. Now, if you continue to play despite these beliefs, I will be quite confused unless you simply want to be charitable and reward those who are breaking the law with a portion of your wealth. Are you still playing? Why?

I might have been tight-roping my last post so let me ask this.
What are the odds of going 4,200 hands without a quad? Compare that to something positive with identical stats like hitting back to back quads or being dealt quads.

What are the odds of going 4,200 hands without a quad?23,497 to 1 (Assuming 10/6 DDB, perfect RNG, perfect strategy)Compare that to something positive with identical stats like hitting
back to back quads or being dealt quads.Odds of being dealt aces is more than twice as rare: 54,144 to 1. Odds of being dealt 11 or more quads in a 2-hour period (if it takes you 2 hours to play 1005 hands): 23,551 to 1 (Assuming 10/6 DDB, perfect RNG, perfect strategy).Consecutive quads on the NEXT 2 hands is rarer: 174,557 to 1. This is quite different than noting that the last hand was a quad and determining that the next one will also be a quad; that is only 417 to 1. So, if you play enough to have had 417 instances of making quads, the expected number of times that you would repeat would be 1. That means that despite the long odds, it will most likely happen if you play long enough.Unfortunately, to do a scientific study, you need to set up the experiment, keep careful records, and go forward in time to reject a hypothesis of randomness. Simply noting that something happened that rarely happens in the past is not sufficient to prove a point or to advance science. Examining probabilities after they occur before a hypothesis is advanced is known as data mining. If you look long enough, you can always find something that occurred that had a rare probability before the fact.Yesterday I was playing on site Quick Quads with the Wheel and was dealt quad aces (no kicker). I've already stated that these odds are 54,144 to 1. I was playing TDB and drew 3 kickers out of 5 (odds of getting 3 or more are about 8 to 1). Up to this point I was unusually lucky. But the wheel was another story. The total of 5 wheel spins was 290 (three 50's, a 60, and an 80). The odds of having a total of 5 wheel spins of 290 or lower is 2832 to 1, pretty unlucky.Put that all together and the odds are 1,404,870,384 to 1. More than a billion to 1. Now I know that I will never play enough to have a billion dealt hands, so in one sense I can say that this couldn't have happened with a fair RNG; nevertheless, it did and I had my highest daily total on that game as a result. Rigged because it was rare? I guess I will have to wait another 50,000 hands until I get dealt quad aces again and see if I get another low wheel spin total.

Congrats on hitting the progressive.
Sorry about your experience at Trump Plaza. In all the years I occasionally went there I never had a winning trip or breaking even
