Re: Best East Coast Odds
I love the Isle in Biloxi. Hit two Royals in one morning there a few years ago. I'll be back in Biloxi in a week or so. I'll have to check the odds again. I guess I'm not looking hard enough. Thanks!

Phil,
Check this link: The TDB was the only one we had to really search for. Isle has to compete with the newer casinos so it seems to keep better pay tables. But, it could have changed since we were last there..

If you play evenings ask to talk to the night Slot Director. Can't remember his name but an older, long time employee/director who took time to show us all the best VP machines on the floor late one night. Even showed me how to look for the older chips in machines that use the same chip for multiple denominations/multi-hand. For example, deuces wild - 25¢ / 3 hand was the same as last dealt hand when we went to 50¢ / 3 hand game and then the same on $1 3/hand game.

Thanks for the tip. I just discovered VPFree through this Forum and it's very cool. I'm definately going to be spending more time looking for better paying machines.

the seven stars 8-5 99.17 bp means the average 7 star expected loss is 1000000x99.17 or 8300 minus comps per year assuming perfect play good for the ceo not the players
Royal, While I agree with your math, you are neglecting to include free play and all of the other Seven Stars benefits (once-a-year junket anywhere, cruise, etc.). If you add up all of those additional perks, including the non-monetary ones on Caesars properties, the actual cost to earn top tier status can be considerably less than $8,300 a year provided you are a knowledgeable VP player. I met one guy in Vegas who actually makes money after all the free play he receives. Certainly they are in the minority and the exception, not the rule. No, this has not been a service announcement from Caesars Entertainment or any of its affiliates

Its amazing how much can be learned by reading a great forum like this one. Luckily, I found it a couple years ago and we've learned so much that has improved our play. We even gotten personal responses from people like the late "CDdenver" who helped clarify so aspects of my play.
Thanks everyone for your input keep and webman for keeping it going.

Royal, for the most part I agree ... but there are still some decent machines sprinkled around Caesars properties, you just have to look harder for them. For instance, while none of the Vegas Strip properties have any 9/6 JOB or 8/5 BP games, casinos like Caesars AC, Harrahs AC, and Rincon San Diego to name a few all have 9/6 JOB at the quarter denomination. This gives you a 99.5% game and an even lower house edge. By the way, Seven Stars members receive hundreds if not thousands of dollars in free play every month ... so if you're a disciplined player with even a decent degree of playing ability your losses should be way less than $8,500. A Seven Stars player I spoke to in Vegas, whom I watched play Bonus Poker, told me he makes a side income of between $40-60K a year from all the free play playing less than optimal games.
On the other hand, I would most certainly agree with you that the overwhelming majority of these players does not play close to perfect strategy on any VP game and is giving away considerably more than $8,300 a year for the privilege of Seven Stars membership. That is their prerogative and the reason Caesars still rolls out the red carpet for people willing to cycle that much money through their machines.
