2 years?!?!?  I've been playing 3-1/2 years and have NEVER hit the fuggin progressive on that bank of 6 machines.  All I've gotten out of them is a load of cigarette ash all over my arms!! But lucky for you u hit it...congrats. I'm sure you notice, however, how SLOWWWWWWly the progressive jackpot goes up on these 6 machines??  CAESARS made it slow so that they would have a far less need for handpays, and it works for the most part.  That jackpot rarely gets above 1100 and almost never hits 1200 requiring a handpay.   This is just one subtle way casinos cut costs and deal with laying people off and having reduced staff.

Thanks, Burglar ... I lost track of how long I've been playing this progressive, it may have been closer to 3 years myself -- but I feel your pain  As far as the handpay situation is concerned, any jackpot (as well as win of $1,000 or more) requires a handpay there, so it is not clear that this has any connection to staff reductions. In fact, it requires more work as the number of available staff are stretched more thinly to pay all of the "jackpots". The upside for everyone is that there is no W2G to fill out. My win was paid quickly and efficiently within 10 minutes. Yes, you are correct that the JOB progressive there rarely gets above $1,100. That seems to be a function of how heavily the machines are played. I have seen it get near $1,200 a couple of times recently, however, and another friend of mine told me it was over $1,400 once a few weeks ago. That is quite a rare occurrence though.
