I was born a stone's throw from that casino. I can not see how the chippewa are going to negoitiate that out of their gaming compact with the state. The other tribe's will not allow it forcing the state to take action.  DA it will never happen the state's will lose all gaming compact monies from the tribe's for reneging on their agreement's with the tribe's. That would be billion's of dollar's.

I went on the site it clearly state's if you run out of credit's you can purchase more just like any game on facebook Also says they have no cash value. That site is going to be nothing close to on line gambling.

there is a slew of proxy servers and other workarounds now being cooked up that will allow people in various states where gambling is still illegal to gamble online in states where it IS legal....and so help me if our Federal government and /or congress comes up with or incites a federal agency to "go after" such citizens, I'm defecting to North Korea!

Seriously, the next cottage industry will be sites offering themselves as "go betweens" or brokers for people wanting to gamble online in states where online gambling is legal but who live in states still living in the 20th century......!
DaBurglar, since the dawn of time man has been finding ways around something they wanted to defeat. Use speeding as an example: how many different types of speed detection have been developed as a result of companies inventing ways to detect the current method of speed detection? If people want to gamble online they will find a way but big brother will find a way to stop them. Does April 15, 2011 ring a bell?

Who'd want to do that if credits are of no value?

Online gambling is here to stay, and whether or not it impacts or even harms existing casino operations and corporations in the various cities and states and tribal areas across the nation is now irrelevant.
I agree. It is only a matter of time that it will be implemented at a Federal level.

As far as 'go betweens', it will not work. You will not be able to transfer funds state to state, regardless of where the server is located. It is not a question of how to play, it is an issue of how to get paid if you win.

Billyjoe if the state's try to implement on line gaming the federal government will be representing the tribe's in any and all litigation. So, it will never get implemented on a federal level.

Well - we'll see. I am betting on the Feds getting their hands on online gaming tax dollars, though.

The tribal casinos can continue to operate as they do now, just as they did as bingo halls prior to casino game introductions. With a Federal Internet Gaming approach, the states will be the big revenue losers.

What would happen if it were approved nationwide EXCEPT in states that have tribal gaming compacts?

Interesting idea Ted but how would you enforce such a law?
