Re: Experimenting with Double Pay
Tedlark - Thanks -- Seeing those 60K credits must have been quite a rush. If I ever catch a dealt royal on this game, it would be 300K credits. - mugrat
I gave the other 4 players in my row $100.00 each, I then got my brother and 3 brothers in law together and gave them each $500.00 apiece as seed money because we went back later that night.

Thx. mugrat & Tedlark, Thanks for the chart. I can see where you would need a small fortune to play this game, 50 credits per hand ouch! Good you hit mugrat & and good you(Tedlark) hit over decade ago good going. Sam

You do realize you didn't have to max bet to get the full payout (98.37%) right? The "Bet 10" button probably was enough to give you the full royal payouts. Glad you did max bet though!

Tedlark - now that's what I call a team player. I'm sure your generosity was greatly appreciated by all. Hopefully, when you went back later that night, you didn't give too much back to the house. -mugrat

Vman96 - Good point. When I first sat down I didn't realize that the max bet was so many credits. However, seeing those large payout possibilities in the pay table kept me feeding the Benjamins. Obviously I'm glad I hit max bet too, but will certainly need careful money management when me and that hungry monster meet again -mugrat

billyjoe - I would agree with you that it certainly is enticing. However, playing this game for any significant amount of time will definitely require bringing a much bigger bankroll -mugrat
It can get pricey. I play, and have won, on the single line version of DoublePay on a Five Star Poker machine at the $1 denom. That is $10 a hand. I was dealt the RF, so I cashed $64k.

Actually mugrat, the money lasted quite some time. I did also book a flight 3 weeks later to Las Vegas and had some fun out there.

Sounds like you had a good time with that! And I am glad that two of our regular posters have pulled off the ultimate feat in that game. It accounts for about 77.5% of the total variance in the 9/5 DDB version. The best I ever did with that is dealt 4 Deuces on Deuces Wild (at a pathetic 10c per line), but considering I only played it once in my life, I'll take the $25!!

billyjoe - That's awesome - Turning a $10 bet into $64K is no easy feat, especially on a single line game. In many years of VP play, I only had a dealt royal once. It was on a $1 10-play game though, so it was worth $40K. Maybe someday I'll catch one on Double Pay.

Glad to hear you hit it on a multi-line game at least. So did I, which I think is terribly fortunate since well over half of my play is single play.
Any dealt royal on one-line sucks unless they play their same stakes or more.
