Re: Tunica Trip June 2014
$20k plus. Should last a while for your next trip. I would be running to the bank myself. You folks are assuming he was ahead by the amount of the jackpots???? It's hardly like he got these hands back-to-back-to back with no expenses along the way.He was regularly playing 8-5 TDB. That's a 96% game. Sometimes he was playing 7-5 TDB Dream Card. That's a 95% game. With a variance of more than 100.He may have left while slightly ahead this time, but games this bad will slice you up two ways from Tuesday. I enjoy Billy Joe on this forum --- and I'm in Vegas and would be happy to meet up with him any time he's here. But I feel very sorry that he feels compelled to play such awful games.Fortunately he can afford it. These games can create swings that would wipe out more than half of the participants on this forumBob

Lots of us just play for fun. It either costs us money, or makes us money.
Coke and hookers offer a 0% return. If I got a 95% return on that money...

7/5 TDB with dream card is actually a higher return game (96.01%) than 8/5 TDB (95.97%).
Billyjoe is a great guy no doubt, but he has a love for TDB that I just will never understand. Horseshoe Tunica definitely has 9/6 DDB (98.98%) at the $5 level, so why not play that instead?

Vman I'm certainly not talking for billyjoe but he has stated in the past that catching quad aces with a kicker with the 4,000 coin payout is a rush that he enjoys. I feel the same way.

Bob - I assume most of us here view playing video poker as entertainment. What is the difference spending $500 playing VP for a few hours versus attending a Madonna concert one stays within one's budget and is prudent when gambling. The idea is to have a good time in either case. We all want to win playing VP and most of us here do what we can to better our chances (paytable, strategy, etc.). Playing VP we probably will end up spending the $500. But unlike buying the ticket to the Madonna concert, the possibility exists for getting lucky and spending less than the $500 or even coming out ahead after a night's entertainment.

But the rush is so much bigger with TDB vs. DDB that it's worth playing a game 3% worse?
I've actually only got AWAK once while playing DDB in a casino. And since I play bonus a lot, a 400 for 1 payout definitely is good enough for me.
Because normally I get AWAK at the wrong game. Like last week. Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...

My reasoning for playing TDB is because its a game that I find enjoyment in playing. Same holds true for some of the other higher volatility games that I also play.

That is why I enjoy playing Double Down Stud Bonus Deuces Wild or Double Bonus Deuces wild so much. If I play job all day, I want to run out of the casino screaming " I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore." Especially, with 1 Royal in 700k hands and some sessions of 6-8 hours without a single quad. Good luck to those who can Zombie out for 10 hours on job. I can't.

Olds I cringe when someone sitting next to me gets AWAK and they're playing JOB. I'm not critical of their game choice but JOB just isn't my cup of tea.
