Re: Frequency and value of multiplier on STP

I don't quite understand why all of you consider an STP multiplier to be an RNG generated one? I do not believe it is. Just like "dream card" or any other VP game that's altered to bet more in hopes of catching something big! When "dream card" debuted some years ago I played it exclusively for days at a time and it was appearing quite regularly. It's been "adjusted" since and no one gets near it now to the point that most casinos take it off the floor as it is unplayable and therefore unprofitable for the casinos. Seems to me all added features on VP are like bonus games on slot machines and largely with predetermined outcome.
If the STP multiplier, which appears completely randomly, is not RNG produced, then how do you suggest it makes its way into the game?
Sorry Rascal. Forgot to quote. Well, how does a bonus round make it into the game when playing slots?
Or for that matter how does a "dream card" make it into the game? If it
was random, how is it according to the manufacturer it appears a certain
percentage of time during a game and different percentages during
different games. Is that random? And if it was "random" 2-3 years ago how did they "adjust the RNG" that the dream card appears a lot less now then it did 2 years ago? Is this an example of Casino called Animal Farm where all RNGs are the equal, but some are more equal then others? I'll give you another example. One day at Borgata about 6 mos ago I played their "Dream Card" machine with some success during the day enjoying a somewhat expected 66% "dream card" on DW game. Decided to really push it after midnight because a big points multiplier would kick in. Played DW on the same machine for at least 30 min without EVER getting a "dream Card"!!!!!!! I am no math wizzard, but even I can tell how astronomical the odds of this would be if......... it was random.
Rascal: I, for one, would love to hear about your $73K jackpot on STP. It's alway fun to live vicariously through others who have hit a spectacular jackpot. What denomination were you playing; how many hands; what multiplier did you receive; what hand were you dealt, etc. If you don't mind sharing it... Thanks.
Dealt 2222, kicker of 4, DDB 10-Play, $1 denom, multiplier of 10. The actual gross jackpot was $80K; the $73K was my net proceeds after the withholding I selected. The multiplier came up after the first two 2's appeared and I was thinking, wow, can I please get a trey on 10 multiplier? Then the last two cards came up ever so slowly and, really, the "call attendant" banner was already flashing before I could comprehend it. I have had multiple 20K jackpots, one 25K, bunch of 10K's and lower, but I have yet to match the thrill of that STP win.

Well, I'm asking you. You're not offering answers, just speculations. If the multiplier is not delivered via RNG, then how does it appear, sir?

Thanks for sharing the story of the jackpot. What a thrill that must have been! Stories like that give the rest of us some hope. At least we can dream...

Well I would say they are on a RNG but one that is seeded. I have noticed this on Frenzy poker. I am just guessing here since I lost count. But on Frenzy I have had trip aces into the bonus round 300+ times without drawing the 4th. I have drawn it in regular play but only once in a bonus round. Same goes for 2s,3s,4s this is all on TDB. The rest of the junk quads no problem, hit them many times.
So the I would guess that the RNG picks a number of a pool of 1000 seeds with Quad Aces only having 1 seed and 8's having 250 seeds. Kind of like the bonus wheel on wheel of fortune. You don't actually have a 1 in 22 chance on hitting the 1,000 coins even though there are only 22 slices in the wheel. The 25 will show 250 times before the 1,000 will. But who really knows other than the games programmers.

Doing it the way you describe would be illegal for video poker in nearly all states.
As for the "wheel of fortune" example that's exactly the way they do it because slot machines are not bound to follow the standard probabilities of a poker deck. Weighted wheels are even used in the bonus for "Wheel Poker". But the probability of obtaining the bonus is determined by playing standard video poker.

For normal play maybe yes. But for a bonus round who knows if that falls under the same category... maybe... maybe not. Either way I can only tell you what actually happened with my time on Frenzy poker since it arrived at my casino. Not what is written in a book, website or suppose to happen.

For the STP machine that I have studied thoroughly (late model, but not the newest electronic), there is NO WAY to modify anything to do with the game besides the denominations and the pay tables.
Not saying that it can't be done, but the chip I have studied (I believe it was a midwest jurisdiction) Options such as what is being discussed here are simply not there.
