I hate tens. They make you make decisions to hold them sometimes when there is almost a snowballs chance in Hell that you will get something great by keeping them.

I've seen about 5 AT suited holds become royals posted on various forums since my last casino royal. It's not even a correct hold in standard 800 for 1 royal games.

My wife always takes the A-10 and she hits them occasionally.   She has her own strategy which is always go for the Royal.   I don't agree, but it's her money.  She does get more royals than me.

The game I play (OEJs) correct strategy is to hold suited A-T when you have nothing else. I have hit a couple RFs holding it.

billyjoe, can you expand upon your statement, i hate eights?
For the games that I most frequently play, like TDB, an eight is the farthest away from the premium cards, A-2-3-4.

That, and the eight looks like that infinity symbol, which reminds me that the casino is constantly after my money. It never ends.

I should have phrased my original question better. I should have stated that i appear to get more quads from starting with 2 of a kind than from 3 of a kind. alpax's numbers cleared that up. Sorry, if my question offended you.
No, I was not offended, and I am glad the alpax reply cleared things up.

But that game isn't "standard" haha. Actually I've kicked myself a bit for not trying the 99.98% version of that game at SLS Las Vegas in September just to say I tried it. Easily the best paytable I have ever run across in that game. But then again I had a much better idea how to play 99.96% DDB and Deuces and 99.95% Pick 'em.

I really miss that game OEJ at Mohegan Sun. They yanked it years ago. The strategy is tough to master and weird like holding a bare 5 etc. I don't ever remember losing on it though I'm sure I did once in awhile. The game they had at Mohegan had so much flexability so my Martingale Clone method almost always worked on it. They were two cent machines that allowed you to bet up to 100 units or 2 bucks. You only had to hit one or two decent hits with a large amount bet to offset all of the smaller bets. There was always a wait to play these machines even at 3 AM.

The strategy for OEJs is one of the most difficult for any game. You were probably much wiser to choose a game you knew better. I play the 100.28 version so I have a little more leeway.

Shadowman, Where do you find the 100.28? I haven't played OEJ since TI pulled the older machines out. Did they increase the paytables on some of the newer machines?
